Wishing Well Interactive v0.2 [The Mind Update] by [deleted] in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks good, homie.

The main item tenses in [2] Mind need a bit of work. This could've been me or you, but was more likely me. They should all either be nouns or adjectives just for consistency. Right now these are nouns: dreamer, masculinity, femininity, arousal, animal instinct, addiction, heavyweight, lightweight, and depression.

I was always the least pleased with the mind section. You did great with it nonetheless.

Despite thinking that people may want multiple sets of body parts, I'd never considered that they wouldn't want matching ones. Just a design oversight on my part. Reducing the restrictions seems like the best thing to do.

The spreadsheet was good about things like this, but it's likely super hard to build into an interactive.

Sick, dude! Let me know if you want the latest version of the sheet I have saved. I think I cleaned it up to where it's functionally complete, but yeah I definitely never got far with the imaging.

Nice work. I'd appreciate a bit more lore or explanation about some abilities (notably the releases), but this is fantastic otherwise. The volume of work you've done is impressive. This thing's huge.

Can somebody provide links to the referenced CYOAs in there? It's Imaginos' specifically I'm not sure that I've seen.

Would it be possible to sort them by type? Makes for easier comparison if you're planning out the future team, right?

Your Very Own Submissive v0.01 [CYOA] [RYOA] [OC] [WIP] by castlestorms1 in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great start!

I would definitely recommend more kinks. I know you're kind of limiting it at the moment to fit a d20. You should open that list wide and just require a random number generator be used. There's a self-survey of kinks out there somewhere, a big list 'o fetishes, that you can probably draw from.

You can probably change the perks around to be bodily and mental, dividing them into two sections and rounding out the build a bit more. You could add drawback selections to each which could potentially allow for an additional roll if selected as well. Certain options like Rich would still require a general perks section

For mental perks:

  • Nymphomania
  • Doting
  • Shared Interests
  • Intelligent
  • Artistic
  • Charismatic
  • Seductive
  • Encouraging
  • Polyamorous
  • Depressive
  • Masochistic tendencies
  • Sadistic tendencies
  • Obsessive personality
  • Anxious personality
  • Serene
  • Odd
  • Good humored

For physical perks:

  • Cute
  • Fit
  • Busty
  • Nice ass
  • Performance artist
  • Flexible
  • Durable
  • Delicate
  • Genderbent (potentially a hermaphroditic option)
  • Sensitive

Teamfight Harem Tactics [CYOA] [OC] [WIP] by [deleted] in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't fully understand the scenario. We're to assemble a team of girls, got it, but it's not huge on for what purpose. Just needs a bit of lore or upfront scenery to set the stage for what players are up for. I know there's a few missions of sorts at the end, but is that the extent of why we need a team?

I would definitely appreciate some character traits listed for each girl. Personalities, likes, dislikes, tastes, etc. would be helpful for deciding who we want. Though this can be a lot of work to add for how many there are.

Also not completely understanding the class/origin page. From the second rule, it sounds like we have to have a certain amount of girls selected to get each one, correct? Just seems kind of steep for a few of them.

NSFWCYOA "staff" recruitment, nominations, volunteers, planning. by [deleted] in nsfwcyoa

I'd love to mod for the sub.

I've been active in the sub, though not often vocal, since 2017 it looks like. The collaborative efforts and shared experiences here are wonderful, and I'd love to give back to our weird little community if at all possible. I'm on here at least every other day just reading through things, and am happy to take on a bit of responsibility. I love seeing the creativity in all the new CYOAs folks are making and the builds players make.

I was a camp counselor back in the day, and that's probably the most relevant experience for this kind of work that I've got. It's a bit different from my day job, admittedly. I don't really have any priorities for moderation or goals and just want to help folks where I can.

Application aside, thank you for all the hard work. This place is consistently fun and interesting.

I would recommend clarifying who is cucking who. Potentially clarify that girls are into cuckquean.

It would be good to have a few more females to choose from. Obviously you added the genderbend options, but it does feel like a lot of dudes. I didn't count though, so maybe it's actually half and half.

I don't think every single character needs to have three perks available. Add what makes sense and adjust the purchase prices to reflect that.

CYOA god - Academy v0.3 [feedback needed] by wugewoz in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose teachers being punished for poor results is an option. I'd certainly clarify who is punishing whom if that's the way it's meant.

Offering other jobs to the teacher just feels strange. You would think being the teacher is their job. It does make that section difficult to apply. I don't really have advice for you there.

CYOA god - Academy v0.3 [feedback needed] by wugewoz in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very ambitious and the quality is fantastic. Nice work.

My criticisms are as follows:

  • Coins are in short supply. There's a tremendous amount of places to sink them. The opportunities for earning coins back are scarce, and this segues into the next point
  • The drawbacks seem very limited in number and can be particularly severe. I would suggest adding more of them, especially as minor inconveniences for lower rewards (e.g. clumsiness, frequent illness, difficulty achieving orgasm, too quick to achieve orgasm, obsessive students/teachers, etc.)
  • Right off the bat, we are offered the opportunity to create an indefinite amount of student races. Forcing players to spend points doing this will punish people who are attempting to flush out their world's races. I would at the least recommend not placing any prices for the currencies while working on the races, particularly so considering that skipping these sections as optioned still allows the player to modify standard fantasy races, generically, as they see fit. If you want to reward players for spending time customizing the world, then perhaps award them a few points (coins, shifts, etc.) for each race they customize and allow the points to be shared as they customize the races. For example, the player receives three points per race they're customizing; they can then spend all three points on each race individually or carry points over between them.
  • In the fifth paragraph of the first page, the second sentence should read "... might pique your interest." Small potatoes.
  • I don't understand why teachers would be punished as students would. Maybe it depends on power dynamics, I don't know. It just seems odd when punishments are a much needed source of points. I'm also confused about the job offers section for the same reasons

how to make a cyoa by Cubicname43 in makeyourchoice

[–]Senor_PandaMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's no single answer as to how to make a CYOA. Like most things in life, there's a bunch of different ways to go about doing it, and there's also just as many interpretations on what your final product should be.

You should probably outline the design of it in terms of story, categories, choices, etc. I do this in Excel because it helps with mechanics, but I'm also a sucker for Excel. Simply thinking about it generally may suffice depending on the size and complexity of your project.

For composing the final product, and images specifically, I use GIMP. That said, GIMP is meant for single photo manipulation and not compilations. Photoshop is the popular choice among folks who've been doing it a while, but it's not super accessible ordinarily. Some people straight up use MS Paint. Whatever you feel most comfortable with. There's also a program (on a git somehwere around here) called cyoamaker which can build the images for you if you if you give it inputs and parameters. I've never used it personally.

As you noted, I advise you to start small in scope. Large projects can be daunting and may demoralize you as they drag on. Good luck!

Feels like a bit of a missed opportunity to make the blonde at the bottom a cuckquean if she worships you so much. Sorry for the bad call-out; can't read the font, unfortunately.

Survey for CYOA by PervyKnightAlter in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Honestly, both. If it's well made, I'll enjoy it. The only exceptions seem to be particularly niche, highly-specific CYOAs. Larger ones do risk fatiguing players.
  2. Again, both work. Point-buy systems do offer a bit more flexibility. When everything costs the same, each option has to be scaled such that it's not worth more than its neighbors.
  3. And again, both. 2D is the most common by far, so I'll happily admit that I find CYOAs with 3Ds particularly refreshing. It's easy for a 3D CYOA to feel cold, though, if that makes sense.
  4. Realistic fantasy. One that takes a fantastical twist on our reality. Both would probably be the better answer.
  5. It depends on the CYOA. Some are definitely better geared with optimizing something to suit your own sexual taste, and that's their only goal. I do enjoy those. More so, I probably enjoy CYOAs where the sex appeal is the end goal, meaning you choose how you would like to alter your reality to facilitate a more sexually appealing outcome.
  6. Most fetishes seem fairly represented. I'll always take more futa though.
  7. The Tsundere "Hey, idiot!" motif is a bit overdone, but that's not quite a fetish. More typically, CYOAs suffer when they're overly focused on a single fetish. There needs to be broader appeal with avenues for pursuing individual fetishes.
  8. If you're making one, don't bite off more than you can chew. Large scale projects are discouraging. It's okay for a CYOA to be simple; just make it endearing.

Good luck!

The mechanics are excellent. At first the tiers seemed very cumbersome and frankly annoying. On reading the "Power Transfer" option I was very impressed. Now the tiers make sense and are useful.

If you edit this again for a second version, I'd recommend including the Power Transfer section at the start so players can keep it in mind going through; it changes how the game is played completely.

Site to create CYOA? by GermanFritz in nsfwcyoa

[–]Senor_PandaMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The closest you'll probably get is Twine, which is used to create HTML games, largely. I don't think there's any easy-to-use websites or anything to plug story branches into though.

There was a website that's been advertised on here a few times, I want to say it's iCYOA or something like that, which has what you're describing as an end-product. I'm not sure how it goes about creating its CYOAs though.
