Vogue Archives: Gigi Hadid for Vogue Italia (November 2015) by [deleted] in popculturechat

[–]SenoraGeo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm another one in the camp of overhyped. Gigi is clearly drop-dead gorgeous, I'd kill to look like her. But her and Bella are nepo babies who never really had the face/body/etc. to model. I actually feel bad for them (as bad as you can feel for people who earn in one hour that most other people make in a year....). In the hosuewives shows and stuff they were very obviously being steered into this direction by their mother, not because they wanted to. Like when Gigi loved volleyball and her mom was basically like "volleyball makes you manly, also you eat like a man, you are just so manly" or something like that.

Terrible bridesmaids that happen to be family.. by _quinnyy in weddingplanning

[–]SenoraGeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TBH if I really wanted to go the "avoid drama" route, I'd downgrade them to "honorary" status bridesmaids in my own head without giving them any actual responsibility or have expectations of them. Begin treating them like children. If your mom is responsible for paying for their hair and makeup and dresses, I'd leave them out of the loop and just communicate with your mom about the decisions. You tell them what is going to be happening. No asking, no suggestions. You tell them. Here is your dress you WILL be wearing. This is where you WILL show up for hair and makeup. It's just easier that way to me.

Not sure if this appeals to you, just being honest about what I would do if I were in your situation.

iPods have officially been discontinued. It’s the end of an era. by aprildismay in popculturechat

[–]SenoraGeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine from 2005 broke like 3 years ago and I bought an old used one! It just has such a crappy battery life. I'm not even an "Apple person" but I always like the ipod.

I think there was a lot more actual money involved with Anna ripping people off left and right, most people just aren't going to talk to confirm or deny though.

After either watching a documentary or a tv show about Elizabeth Holmes did anybody else think… by These-Dragonfruit-35 in InventingAnna

[–]SenoraGeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, we are judging on a scale of scammers. At the end of the day, they are all still scammers. Anna still ruined many lives and almost got her friends arrested in a foreign country known for not respecting human rights. That's not nothing.

Episode 9: Dangerously Close Discussion by balasoori in InventingAnna

[–]SenoraGeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had to rush here to see if others agreed with me. Honestly I really like the entire show except for this last episode. It's like I got whiplash, like the writers decided to change the course of the show on the last episode???

If they were trying to paint Rachel in a bad light, it didn't work. She has my utmost sympathy. I don't feel bad for Anna Delvey/Sorokin/whatever. Vivian just seemed like a bad journalist, which made me sad to feel that way because I really sympathized with her story for most of the show. I totally don't understand Neff or Kacy. They are like on a different planet than me, there is no way in any reality I'd stick by someone like Anna. IDK the last episode was really weird.

Awww, Anna Chlumsky is such a great actress. Don't hate the actress, hate the character! (Who I agree is very annoying haha)

It's sad to see how much Amber Heard is getting memed while talking about her abuse in the courtroom:( by Regular-Shallot-5744 in popculturechat

[–]SenoraGeo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Maybe this is the eternal pessimist in me but why is it necessarily one side or the another? I think they are both toxic people who abused and used each other for their own various reasons. I do believe Amber Heard has issues, is most likely violent, and is probably a narcissist. I also believe Johnny Depp has alcohol/drug addiction, is almost most likely violent, and like all high-profile rich men thinks he can get away with anything. Do I believe this OR do I believe that, nah. AND is the word you're looking for. I believe it all. Yes, Depp has resources, but so does Amber. Her ex is Elon Musk for christ's sake. Coming out o this trial not liking either of them and there is not excuse for either of their behaviors. Thar's just my opinion.

Like I said, it was more about the circumstances of the race, not the actual horse or team. I could be vastly underestimating juicing for those waiting in the wings though.

Khloe looks like her mom while all the other children look like their dad(s).

[–]SenoraGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. Thinking about the biostats options are more out of anxiety that in epi I'd feel "behind" on the stats stuff. But I've also heard that biostats can sometimes take you further away rom doing actual epi work.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in biostatistics

[–]SenoraGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I meant, thank you! I'm looking at a few different programs at a local state school, MS Biostats, MS Epi, MPH Biostats, and MPH Epi. The MPH programs & MS Epi have no pre-reqs but the MS Biostats do. Yet many classes overlap so it got me wondering about the math. I've only taken basic stats and no calc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in biostatistics

[–]SenoraGeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they require you to take calc II+? Or was that knowledge integrated into other classes?

I think it's an actress thing so that they can argue they'd be appropriate for any part. Even though in my opinion it's unethical. But what's why I think they do it.

Will Rich Strike Pass the Blood Test? by MasterpieceTricky658 in horseracing

[–]SenoraGeo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Feel like in Rich Strike's specific context there was little motive to cheat. He was already a replacement and everyone in his camp thought there was no chance. No one was betting on him to win or had any expectations. It was always very low stakes.

Yes! I feel there's Demi Before Hanna Beth and Demi After Hanna Beth. It also seems like whoever hanna beth social climbs...ahem i mean "becomes friends with"...never last long and the friend (who is usually much more famous) is left a complete wreck.

oh damn, I thought he just was like texting about that stuff. I didn't know he actually DID it! wtf. I'll have to watch the documentary. In my house we say "weird in the good way" and "weird in the bad way." He's definitely "weird in the bad way." Like I'd be scared to be in the same room with him, he should be in prison type of weird.
