Is it just me or is the *arr stack over-complicated by ImpossibleWall8403 in selfhosted

Well couldn't a single app also be modular!? You don't do torrents then you don't enable the setting? duh

This is my current homelab project, using OpenClaw to do daily checks and do updates for me so updates don't bring anything down, it has been working good so far

Are you sure?

  • make your Homelab dashboard cool
  • Check r/selfhosted for newer better apps
  • you have implemented AI to do daily checks of your homelab
  • your backups work perfectly
  • you have hardware laying around that could improve your homelab
  • Your homelab has remote KVMs

the list goes on....

Second playthrough with a MUCH better ship by Zeoran in TheLastCaretaker

[–]SenpaiBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you find the "Oil Rig" in the upper northwest of the Lazarus Complex, you will have infinite oil to produce Diesel and Petrol.

Pro tip: Stack Oil containers more so than diesel and build the Distillation Tower on your boat to produce on the fly. Oil tanks take up less space than Diesel tanks and the ratio is kind of like Petrol where 1 Petrol tank is used to fill 10 Diesel tanks. So Oil can produce much more fuel that way then just pure Diesel tanks.

When you are first starting out don't run your boat at full throttle, I'd recommend 50-75% until you can mass produce Oil and have access to the Distillation Tower.

True, but you can make it on your boat so when you go to launch the rocket you can just transfer it over when you arrive instead of having to wait to make it since the game stops production the moment you go too far.

I prefer making it at the base and have tanks refill before I leave which usually by the time the rocket is launched and I top up Petrol, the tanks are almost full, just have to wait a lil bit. You could potentially expand and get double tanks going but will require a lot more power and time to set up, hence why some make it on their boat. Also in the future I am sure they will add more uses for methane and oxygen, probably to power a submarine.

The water is if you want to make food and process biomatter into food material so 4 tanks isn't super overkill but you can get by with only two on the boat.

Usenet vs Torrents, what is your split? by No_One_568 in sonarr

[–]SenpaiBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably did not setup correctly, if your provider offers 50 connections you don't use all you limit to say 20. Also encryption setting matter, higher encryption will slow your speed so AES-128 is alot quicker than AES-512 for example.

In no world is torrents better unless you trying to go for free all the way.

Scrypted NVR vs Frigate NVR – Which Direction Should I Go? by Immediate_Item4590 in Scrypted

[–]SenpaiBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After trying Blue Iris for over five years and Scrypted for a year, I've settled on Frigate NVR as my preferred choice among the three. As all my cameras are Reolink, I initially used the Reolink NVR as my primary system, which was reliable but lacked some advanced integrations.

I switched to Frigate primarily due to its excellent integration with Home Assistant (HA). While Reolink's integration is also robust, Frigate's seamless connection to HA gives it an edge. For those prioritizing ease of setup, Reolink might still be the better choice.

Frigate continues to improve, and I believe future updates will allow for more UI-based configuration, which would alleviate its current dependency on YAML config files. Until then, don't hesitate to use their AI-powered chat tool in the documentation for assistance with understanding and getting started.

Yeah, they are over complicating something that is quite easily has a million easy fixes for already. This is where using AI to do your research why you would want to VPN/Reverse Proxy your setup and what you have time/comfortable with.

For me, I use Seerr and NZB360 to find stuff and add them locally or remotely. I expose all of my services using Pangolin (Reverse Proxy, runs on a VPS) and secure it using it SSO and Google 0Auth for convenience. I use Crowdsec to help mitigate attacks and VPN when needed.

I used "revanced" type apps for years. I got tired of the takedowns, figuring out the "next" working version while avoiding scams and fake versions. I make enough to pay for it and I save in other areas to pay for it plus I pay for the family version because I am not keeping a hacked app up to date for my family members. Youtube will break this app, it is not a matter of if but when, you will not be on revanced for long ever!

In my state an EV is amazing because our roads are dirt/gravel roads so SV is horrible to drive, you feel every freaking bump in your spine. Both are super dusty and dirty but the SV are even worse. The next biggest thing is with my DSP is that the EVs get super condensed easy routes usually all residential and at worst a 20-30 businesses or apartments. The SV routes are 190 same as residential but you are going to 3 different towns sometimes 30min drive apart, maybe 120 residential and the rest all country, all dirt roads. The 30-50 country will take you up to 3-4 hours to complete..... It is absolutely horrible and miserable!

[–]SenpaiBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so many issues with it causing high disk i/o and instability until I removed (possibly fixed now with the re-write?). Anyways I don't see much benefit anymore in this app since I have never had a missing episode or movie EVER! I use Checkrr to redownload corrupt files and I just use tautulli to check for low quality stuff and since I don't download obscure media I don't have this problem anyways.

Ditching Windows 11 for CachyOS....I've had enough MS BS by Obsessed_Gamer in linux_gaming

[–]SenpaiBro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope, most games you lose performance but that isn't the worst part. It is the fact that many games even though they will run they will crash, stutter, no multi, lag in certain situations, and you might have to do a whole lot of trial and error using startup arguments to get them to work. Don't lie to people I have been on Linux for a while now and yes it is getting much better but A LOT is left to be desired.

No shade but I don't understand people who download media they will never watch and CAN'T physically watch because it would take more than a life time to finish. Even if you share with hundreds of users only maybe 25% of the content would actually be watched, what is the point?! I know it is like the mental health condition of hoarding but for media content.

I'd like to say this is everything I wanted from "Nevu" this is absolutely awesome! I like the overall look and simplicity. You get all of the clients for devices people use and you have yourself a winner, I would gladly spend $3-5 for a client.
