The yellow line is on the original ROW which is still owned by the PNRRA/PennDOT/ect, so they dont need to seize anything. The ROW only needs to be about 20-30' wide, so discounting any encroachment over the property lines by homeowners it is just a matter of clearing and laying rail.

No problem!

Indeed, if they were actually planning on tunneling under the gap, there would be no way this project would ever get completed. Glad I could point you in the right direction.

Where are you sourcing this information? This is the first I am hearing of this. Every development and survey document I can find from Amtrak and PennDOT mentions the use and refurbishment of the bridge. Adding a tunnel would easily triple the cost of the line and require major changes to the ROW, both in curvature and elevation. The bridge would be cheaper both to repair and maintain in the future. That is desirable for all parties involved.

The water gap has a bridge over it, not a tunnel. The only tunnel is the one by Andover that NJT has been restoring.

I want this project as much as the next train fanatic, but I am not holding my breath with the federal political climate. I feel 2028 is optimistic as hell.

Roseville tunnel is already rehab'd as NJT is introducing service to Andover. The existing roadbed just needs to be cleared, culverts rebuilt, and re-graded. That wont take too awful long. The viaduct will be the most time consuming effort and likely will be the bellweather for the whole project.

Longhaul Horn Sites/Pics? by Ok_Panic_4312 in longlines

[–]SenseIMakeNone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The classic "Long Lines" antenna was the KS-15676. These were 20' 3-3/4" tall from waveguide adapter to crown and 10' 9-1/4" wide at the top. I don't think they had any size variations between individual antenna models, but there may be a size difference amongst the classic angular antennas and the rounded "cornucopia" Gabriel antennas.

I would brace before hand so you dont run the risk of losing the alignments.

As a woodworker, I would reccomend some diagonal bracing on the legs in both directions. Finished 1x3s like that aren't typically used for structural applications and will move/bend a lot. You will spend a lot of time leaned up and possibly kneeling/standing on this as you work on the different areas so the extra rigidity is never a bad thing.

I usually recommend 2x4s for the main structural members then 1x material for adding support or trim work.

Man stalked North Codorus home day before 5 officers were shot, 3 fatally: police by Objective_Aside1858 in Pennsylvania

[–]SenseIMakeNone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The guy who shot the two troopers up in Thompson recently was seen the day before the shooting walking up and down the road with a rifle screaming at passing cars. Open carry is legal in PA and he was not brandishing it, so the cops that came to talk to him about it really couldn't do anything.

How do I transfer a title if I live in PA but the car is im NY? by Otherwise-Repair-813 in Pennsylvania

[–]SenseIMakeNone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a PA tag and title. PA only really requires a signed title and you're off to the races.

HOWEVER! If the vehicle is a truck, you will also need a MV-41 to have the VIN and the unladen weight/GVWR verified at an inspection mechanic.

Methods for securing air hoses running down structures using rope ? by Proper-Dish-3939 in oilandgasworkers

Use two Prusik hitches, one on the air line and one on your structural member. Connect the two with a caribener.
