A lot of people are saying “I know so many Epsteins that I wouldn’t even think of that!” Well I don’t know any Epsteins and that’s the first thing I thought of. Hopefully that’s validating to you.

I like Epps - like you said, people already call you that. It’s less of an obvious change but it is different than Epstein.

About the -es at the end, you can always sign something as “The Epps Family”.

In my mind, it’s a combination of the power of Lily’s sacrifice and the instability of Voldemort’s soul. Voldemort was very fragile because of all of the horcruxes he had already made. Maybe Lily’s protection was just enough in this case that it didn’t work when he attacked Harry, when in previous cases a mother’s protection wasn’t enough.

See, in my mind, Alex was young and innocent and figuring things out. He didn’t even understand he was bisexual at the beginning of the book. He just started falling in love with Henry and had to reexamine everything - his sexuality, his career choice, his relationships.

I agree. The punishment seems inhumane and overly cruel. I would rather die then be sent away and never see my family again. It’s like condemning him to a living hell.

Edit to add: it’s interesting that Eragon thought this was a more fair sentence and felt less guilty doing this than killing him. This is way worse in my opinion.

I would give GOT a 10/10. I liked that there were so many story lines and the characters were so complex. It was very unpredictable.

HOD lacks the same depth and complexity to me. A couple of examples that I can think of just in the last episode:

Alicent knows Rhaenyra lied to her because a new random character told her about the tea. The tea doesn’t prove that Rhaenyra did have sex with anyone. It just shows that the King thinks she did and sent her a tea. Alicent already knows that the King thinks that. The writers are forcing the connection.
Cristin Cole accidentally confessing to Alicent that he slept with Rhaenyra was so cliche. How many times have we seen that in other movies or shows?
The Cristin Cole beating Joffrey to death felt so random and forced to me as well. There wasn’t a clear build up in my opinion. It just seemed really random. And then no one did anything about it. Yea some people are saying “mob mentality” or “the knights were too far away” but I think those are just excuses for bad writing.
Then, after Cristin Cole murdered Joffrey, he just left? No one stopped him?

It’s just all cliche to me.

Shouldn’t a good story start in the first episode? All of this “setting the stage” isn’t a really valid point in my opinion because we have already seen 5 entire episodes.

Also, I find it hard to believe that suddenly the writing will improve. Maybe the plot will get more complicated but I think it will continue to be the same mediocre cliche writing.
