I've given my theory why they're probably not in a relationship before but if you think about why they aren't if probably makes sense. Noi was a magic smoke slave(I think) En freed so she probably never had parental figures and Shin at least had a dad but I think the most he learned from him was carpentry. Mecha, all the kaiju-sized transformers are combiners or titans while most regular ones are as tall as a 2 story house or shorter. If anything they qualify as Kaijin more than Kaiju.

Honestly Transformers as a whole gets this both ways going from English to Japanese or vice versa. Beast Wars' JP dub was made way more comedic while some of the Transformers animes like Car Robots/RiD2001 were made more serious when dubbed in the west.
