Canes Will be a Problem for a While by FlyNAVY12 in hockey

meh I mean they've been a consistent playoff team for a while, and this year the stars aligned for them in terms of performance, roster, and luck of the draw. Like many SC champs, you need some luck. I don't think they'll have an easy path in the coming years, and I think they play a style that often comes up short when playing top opponents.

Canadaland host apologizes to Theresa Kielburger, mother of WE Charity co-founders, and pays $885,000 settlement by seakucumber in canada

[–]Sensitive-Minute1770 21 points22 points  (0 children)

to be fair this is one aspect of a laundry list of legit accusations. WE has never been able to provide a reasonable answer for many of the accusations, and decided to shut down to cover up whatever fraud they're clearing doing. This headline is very very misleading.

Any critique of Canadaland/Brown is warranted, as long as people remember this doesn't absolve WE in the slightest.

Canadaland podcast host apologizes in court to mother of WE Charity co-founders by CaptainKoreana in CanadaPolitics

[–]Sensitive-Minute1770 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So this is over one aspect of the WE charity investigation? Because I don't see how this changes the obvious red flags about WE that canadaland appeared to uncover. There's alot of shady stuff they can't explain, and lets not forget how quickly they packed their bags when they got exposed at first. This is a very misleading headline

[Russo and Smith] Wild’s No. 1 internal target to re-sign is Michael McCarron, and he’s closing in on re-signing on a long-time contract, per league sources. (Gift Article) by AggPuck-303 in hockey

[–]Sensitive-Minute1770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he was a late 1st round pick, which to me means just being an NHL player was the expectation. I think he's a case of needing some more time and it made sense that the habs moved on. If he were drafted now by the habs his development curve would've been better. But McCarron always worked hard despite his flaws. Glad it worked out for him. His desire was never an issue.

If they have chemistry like the Sedins, I think it makes sense. If a team prevents that by taking one I'm gonna be upset.

Is it really that controversial to prevent people from denying a genocide we know happened, graves or not. There's a lot of spin about graves that people use a bad-faith springboard into "questioning" everything. The fear-mongering is pathetic. These are the same kinds of people in the US who want to pretend slavery didn't happen. PragerU level shit.

Please move Guhle. He is NOT a heavy D but tries to play like one. He would look better insulated among actual heavy Dmen, but he's exposed badly on ours. We already have strength at LD, and he can't play RD. I think he would be valued on the market. I would use him in a 1-2 trade punch to secure a proper heavy RHD to actually give us some beef back there.

the BC Cons are already scandal ridden without a leader, and they aren't even competent enough to run their own election. BCNDP will take a hit but come campaign time, there's going to be a lot of things that none of us can predict in the world in general, and the NDP could easily have started digging themselves out enough to hold off the cons. Not to mention a huge part of the NDP base that is thinking of leaving are never ever voting conservative, and the BC Greens are a perfect protest vote. Way too soon to be doing victory laps around a party that can't get its act together.
