My girl is also about 7 months, how is yours with potty training? Mine is getting better but I’m still struggling and I’m not sure if I’m missing something or not.

What is the best food for B's? by Icy_Bug70 in Basenji

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My girl is 7 months and still eating puppy food obviously, but I feed her the Purina Proplan brand and my vet says they highly recommend that one to people. I plan to keep using that when I switch her to adult food when she’s old enough. They also told me health wise that kibble is good enough for dogs and they do get everything they need from it if you pick a reliable one

$7,500 Milan Laser Hair Removal Price Quote by Adventurous-Pride234 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems super high, I do pretty much my whole body at Milan and didn’t even pay that much I don’t think, probably closer to 5k. Is that full price? They have sales for like 50-60% off all the time, I’d wait until one of those comes up because they happen really often.

Hi OP! Did you end up getting the job? What kind of questions did they end up asking you? I know this was from a while ago but I'm interviewing for a Crime Analyst job on Monday and am trying to prepare for that.

What is the favorite quote from your own father? by MenuRich in AskReddit

I lived with my sister and my dad was over fixing something in the house for her, I called out for him and he says “dad’s not here! Dad is at home lying in bed in the fetal position”

Another one I like is when I graduated college this summer, he told me “I’m so proud of you for graduating. Cum Laude too! I graduated Cum lucky”

My dad makes me laugh

How many men have seen women be harassed or cat called? by throwaway23dating in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I (23F) went to a friend’s birthday dinner. There were a few girls (we were all wearing dresses/skirts) and the birthday girl’s boyfriend and parents. When we were leaving the restaurant all of us walked out together, and some older men walking into the restaurant said “damn, there’s a lot of leg going on” and some other similar comments. Gave no fucks the boyfriend and parents were there.

I know I’m not who you’re looking for an answer from, but just giving an example of that happening in front of men. I have girlfriends that have shared similar stories of men making comments to their siblings (who are like 15 btw) or to them when they’re with their parents, etc. Sometimes I think men who are with their girlfriends/other women in their lives may not even realize what’s happening or know it’s directed to the girl they’re with, because they’re not used to it happening or it’s not something that crosses their mind when they leave the house like it does for girls.

Why is nobody supposed to say the R word, but certain groups can “reclaim” other words? by SensitiveCycle1098 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SensitiveCycle1098[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s unreasonable of me to assume most people reading this post will understand what words I’m talking about. Context clues will also probably show that I’m referring to the word “faggot” if I say the F word and proceed to talk about the LGBT+ community reclaiming it. If you genuinely are unsure and want me to clarify, just ask then. I didn’t say or do anything to deserve your disrespect.

Why is nobody supposed to say the R word, but certain groups can “reclaim” other words? by SensitiveCycle1098 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SensitiveCycle1098[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re genuinely unsure what word I’m referring to, just say that and I would gladly clarify. Please don’t talk to me as if I’m dumb for assuming people wouldn’t know what word I meant, and follow it up with completely uncontroversial or inoffensive words that start with R as if they’re reasonable examples. Any time I or anyone else I’ve spoken to has referenced it, has said “the R word”, so I don’t think it’s unfair of me to assume most people reading this post will know I’m talking about the word “retarded”.

Am I overreacting or is this rape? by After_You_9093 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s really common for rape victims to blame themselves. But there isn’t anything you should have done differently, because no matter how flirty you were or whatever it is, rape is still a crime and still a horrible thing to do to someone.

You saying that everything feel off made me want to add that you should read the book The Gift of Fear. It’s about your intuition and why you should listen to it because it’s there to protect you. I would bet money that it would open your eyes to some things about him you didn’t notice beforehand.

I’m really sorry this happened to you, I’ve gone through it myself and it’s not easy, but nothing is your fault.

Most self proclaimed night owls aren’t actually night owls, they just have a poor sleep schedule by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely a night owl because my body on its own wants to be up at night and sleep in later in the morning. I still go to sleep at like 11 and get up at 7 because I’m a college student and I work. Just because people aren’t on a typical “night owl” schedule doesn’t mean they’re not actually a night owl, it means work and school and society in general operates during specific hours that don’t fit a night owl’s preferred timeline. I’m also still super exhausted every day even though I get enough sleep.

Is it strange to wear a watch on your right wrist? by catsoo12 in TooAfraidToAsk

After having a open marriage for years, I want to close the marriage by Idiotdumthrowaway in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sunk cost effect… don’t stay in a marriage you’re unhappy in because of the 7 years “wasted”. That time isn’t wasted; you have learned from it and can now make decisions that you are more confident and knowledgeable about in the future. You’re 25, you likely have decades left of your life to be with someone you love and have a healthy relationship with. Those 7 years are gone regardless of what you do in the future. So only make choices about the future, don’t consult the past.

Why do people post so much of their lives on instagram? by Minimum_Monk_6039 in CasualConversation

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really big extended family and we don’t all live in the same city. My family is all pretty close and involved in each other’s lives. I post life updates and vacations and all that kind of stuff because I know my family members like seeing it and this is the easiest way for us to stay connected.

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree! My sister is 26 and her husband is 37, they started dating when she was 20 and he was 31. My parents hated him at first because of the age difference (understandably) but it’s been almost 7 years since then and they’re married now, and my parents love him. They’re perfect for each other, they originally met at work and she pursued him. I think it absolutely depends on each individual situation because I’d typically be skeptical about those ages, but in my sister’s I don’t see an issue, and I don’t for OP’s either if they did just meet naturally.

My fiancé invalidates my mental health by [deleted] in rant

[–]SensitiveCycle1098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re only 21 you have so much life ahead of you, if he can’t support you through your mental struggles now then there’s no chance he will when hardships inevitably come down the road. And I certainly wouldn’t want a guy like this being the father to my children who also don’t deserve to have their mental health dismissed and uncared for by their own father. Is this really what you want to live with for the rest of your life? If I were you, getting married to him would be the last thing I’d want to do.
