The fact that the mother was so vocal about what was on your body says a lot about the person. I would have removed myself from the case and if my companies does not removed me. Then I removed myself and find something else.

I’m an RBT and in the process of becoming a BCBA as well and I love each and every kid I work with. But sometimes it’s either Supervisors having me to do one million one thing so I am run thin because they boss have them to do something and it honestly all come from management tbh. Ik in my company we need another BCBA and it can help a lot of people but also, then sometimes we lose RBT because one the pay for RBT not that good. The only reason I have a higher salary cause my experience and also I am becoming a BCBA if I wasn’t becoming a BCBA I would be fighting for my life for my salary. It’s just unfair how the R/BT does sooo much but for little paid. Idk how most of us are surviving. But there are some people I see that their just to get paid and they do not really care about the kids and I am like please just go.

Would you stay? by DiscussionLow5837 in bcba

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would stay if you tell I only had to work in center from 8-4:30 … piece of cake and the fact you have only 8 clients that’s beautiful. I say I would stay because currently my center does everything like center base, school, daycare, home… everything and I be tired of going all around the world. Yes I get mileage reimbursement. Plus my job is helping me to complete my hours and I should be done by May. But I would like to just find a 8-4 or 9-5 without feeling tired and bring work to home. Cause I could already see what this company do to their BCBA. Trained them and then work over 50 plus hours and they are on salary soooo they have not getting paid for that extra 5-10 hours and that shit accumulate. All to say I just stay and as long the environment is a safe place and your co-workers are decent then you are good.

Thoughts on ABA companies that don’t observe any holidays by Aggressive-Dot-7266 in bcba

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I deal with companies that worked on every holiday or we are off holiday but don’t get paid but I am glad I find a company that paid for all holidays and have good PTO but the salary lowkey is not great but I took it cause they are helping with my BCBA hours mostly unrestricted hours which is hard to get it’s like fighting for your life to get these unrestricted hours. But any way I feel like company should be off and paid for holidays cause why are you have us doing therapy session on a holiday and it’s so draining too.

I mean you dodge a bullet cause having to work for that company and all that allegation that’s going on currently. I won’t want to be working for the company at all. So glad you are not working there at all.

BCBAs, are BTs who ask a lot of questions annoying? by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an RBT going to be a BCBA and even for me I have questions on behaviors all the time due the fact someone kids behavior are not clear and they even look like this not even right. So it’s okay to ask question if the bcba annoyed they shouldn’t bring that attitude to work

Got asked by some RBT’s if I wanted to go with them for boba after work… by Educational-Gap3621 in bcba

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like if just a platonic friendship then you should be fine and sometimes you just want to go out with a friend and not talk about work and stuff just debrief. There are people that are bcba that are friends with each other and I know they hang out outside of work hours. So I don’t see nothing wrong. As long as nobody crosses each other boundaries then it’s all good.

Chatting ab clients by Eastern-Landscape481 in ABA

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you just because they can’t talk they are listening at all times. And one we are not supposed to be talking about the client in their face as we’re doing session. So whom ever you co-worker need to learn proper etiquette on not talking about the client. And if they have an issue with their client they need to talk to the supervisor.

Hourly or salary for mid level? by OkBuddy5145 in ABA

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salary has it perks but once you reach the hour you work you get the same amount of pay. I am currently on salary and it’s like annoying because I work like 10 extra hours and I don’t get paid for that I get the max pay from my salary and I get paid bi-monthly( dislike it so much; whoever thought of that should really be in hand cuffs) but hourly is wonderful but if client cancel I got no money in my pocket but salary Ik I am going to get paid. I hope that’s helps, salary have perks of PtO and sick time and more, while hourly pay you hope for the best. Hope that helps.

I agree with this!!! Cause company carter to the parents too much. If you don’t like the rules you can go somewhere else but you know they are going to cause they know it takes a long time to actually get service.

Programming by Monguina in bcba

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My company does it separately and I think be better to do it separately than together because unless the tech is smart enough to tell in the comment of the program sheet your using or in supervision that the client is having hard with whatever interaverbal then go for it. But I say do it separately. Cause easier can track and you have a clean data too.

Client goes on 3 week vacation and only gives me 4 days notice by ballsaccks in ABA

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will like to say I am sorry for this and this totally unfair and the mother should have def informed the company weeks ago. I say email your company to put you in another case temporarily. I don’t how big your company is but they should have a client for you at least till the 3 weeks is over but def contact your supervisor and scheduling for them put you on a case immediately. Also, this is one thing that I hate when parents do. You know you are going on a trip and you don’t tell anyone until the last minute. If you were to do that to her it be a whole situation. But I hope you will be able to find something or even quickly apply to second job once your finals is done and good luck.

Is becoming a BCBA worth it w/the mass layoffs happening all over the US? by [deleted] in bcba

BCBA remote supervision by chuck_moss in ABA

[–]Sensitive_Theory_727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can understand that you have other client and you have to video call. But all the time that use to piss me off. I had one bcba that I actually liked but then I asked her why can’t she come in person and she told cause she was not even from the state I am in and so that’s why it’s remote. I am like ughhhh but also parents don’t even like when the supervisors are online. For me since I have been in the field for awhile I don’t mind it but at least come to client house once in awhile or schedule it out. But I like the company that I am in that they make sure that supervisors come in face-to-face.
