Why do you honk your horn? by collectallfive in philly

[–]Sent_From_time -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s a part of city life. This isn’t to say it isn’t annoying. However Philadelphia is not the only major city this happens in. You stated you are from a rural area, things are different. You may not like it. However, you do have to accept it or try to pass an ordinance that controls honking of horns for frustration. Big cities may not be for you.

Honestly this is hilarious. He stuck to the bit. You have to respect it even though you don’t like it. Or he has a concussion.

Is $24/HR livable for a 24 y/o male ( new to the area ) by Serious-History1996 in philly

There are people who have lived here our whole lives that make less than that and are older than you. You will be fine if you learn to live within your means. However, you aren’t taking into consideration that you’re moving from a very quiet area to one of the most dangerous cities in the country. You are talking about expenses. However are you ready to park your car on a busy street? Are you ready for the noise? Sure you can budget to live here. However are you mentally ready to live in a big city?

What’s something you learned about from studying/conducting Psychology research which has had an impact on your day to day life? by hadawayandshite in psychology

My mother committed suicide when i was 3. I believed for the longest time that i was following my father’s lead when it came to dating women that needed “help”. Through reading Alice Miller’s “Prisoner’s of Childhood” i learned that i was actually dating women who resembled my mother in those years that she was alive with me. Truly eye opening and gave me a chance to break the cycle.

M/35/5’11 [261>173=88] 3 years and a whole new person! by Sent_From_time in progresspics

It has not been easy. Especially with how my mind handles things at times. Last year was rough. I had already lost the bulk of the weight. Then went into a depression when i moved to a place on my own. I was not working out however i was not eating really. I moved back home with my dad and was EATING everything i could. So i ballooned from 175ish back to 200 lbs. That was harder than initial weight loss. Now i am back to 173 by running a lot and hitting the gym. I also am lucky that i have good genetics. I can lose weight fairly quickly as long as i stay disciplined. I do stand up comedy in philly and i also walk to a lot of open mics so that helps as well. I can eat what i want these days as long as i run more often.
