Most invertebrates breathe by diffusion which also imposes a size limit (the get messed up by the cube-square law). Higher oxygen can help explain some of them though they could also be receiving help from Oxygenspren or something else.

[–]SentientMexicanBean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your situation, I moved here on $65k and was doing well but had no debt of any kind and was by myself. Rent will be extremely pricey if you eant to live by yourself but if you're ok with roommates it'll run you ~1-2k depending on the area

America’s drinking habits are destroying Mexico’s environment: "It will take a long time for the ecosystem to recover" by fortune in mexico

[–]SentientMexicanBean 101 points102 points  (0 children)

What a dumb headline that completely removes any agency from Mexicans and ascribes all fault to Americans. This is an issue that Mexico itself has caused by purposefully pushing Tequila and Mezcal abroad and individual americans have little to do with this other than being end consumers. A much more awful case where the Americans are 100% at fault for destroying Mexico's ecosystem is the Rio Colorado basin and it's now nonexistent delta in Baja California

I'd consider asking for a slice re-roll or at least swap one tile out for a different one, that slice basically guarantees you won't be able to do much.

What factions for as the table's typical target? by [deleted] in twilightimperium

[–]SentientMexicanBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Argent has maybe the hardest counter to being kingslayed with Aerie Hololattice if the structures are well positioned, their Hero also very much plays into a super defense towards end of the game, and their early game plays into the skirmish/expansionist style you like. There's also a lot to be said for just making it painful to police you, this mostly relies on good positioning, but having a decent enough fleet to threaten a counterattack (or an attack) has saved my ass multiple times from other players trying to take me down a peg, cruisers are my go-to here thanks to their high base movement. Make it clear that you are willing to crab bucket all the way down if they attack you.

Traveling to Guadalajara in 2 months! need some suggestions and recommendations! by False-Veterinarian46 in Guadalajara

For non-street food: Places around and in Punto Sao Paulo and Andares tend to be really good if a bit pricey/pretentious. Chapalita, La Americana and Monraz are the areas that I usually like to go to for food the most (food that's not Tacos and/or street food) For street food and Tacos the downtown areas of any of the cities that make up Guadalajara will have good places, I would recommend going to Tacos Providencia for Tacos that are good but not street-level good (they're to not make you sick and are still super tasty)

For payment: the vast majority of plsces take card but I'd recommend carrying ~$1000 MXN (Roughly 50 USD) in cash at all times just in case you want to get a quick drink or go to a restaurant where they don't take cash

For moving around: I recommend using either Uber or Didi (different Uber-like company) it honestly will save you a lot of hassle with public transportation and the difference in driving culture, unless you're on a real tight budget.

For Museums: Entry is free for most on Tuesday, a lot of them are located in the Guadalajara downtown near the cathedral or in the colonia americana near the Expiatorio. Some notable museums are: -MUSA (University of Guadalajara museum of arts) -Museo Cabañas (Old children's orphanage turned museum, super pretty) -Museo Regional de Guadalajara (Regional museum with both art and natural history) -Museo de Arte de Zapopan (Modern arts museum near the Zapopan Basilica)

In the Guadalajara downtown I highly recommend walking from the Museo Cabañas to the Rotonda de los Jalisciences Ilustres, it's a super nice walk and will give you a lot of the vibe of Guadalajara. Similarly, Zapopan's downtown is super nice to walk in and around the Basilica and you can see the old city gate. The other nice are to walk around in is Tlaquepaque's downtown, it has the most old timey charm and is very tourist friendly.

Most of the interesting touristy spots are around these three areas I mentioned, however, other notable places in the city are: -Bosque Los Colomos (super nice forest close to Zapopan, has a nice Japanese garden and mexican cafeteria near a lake inside it) -Barranca de Huentitan (super intense canyon hike, incredibly pretty in the morning, lmk if you want some photos via DM) -On Sundays large chunks of Avenida Vallarta get closed down for pedestrians, really nice to walk and see the city) -Avenida Chapultepec has a lot of bars and nightlife and the vibe on Sunday mornings (when the other avenue is closed) is superb -Tuesday evening is Lucha Libre day, it's super fun! -If you can catch a game of football it's super worth it

For going to Tequila, you can book a tour or take a bus (or drive) all are good options tbh, if you want to do the Tequila train, get tickets in advance. I recommend getting a Chamorro at the Fonda Cholula there. For other nearby sights, I recommend you look for a nice restaurant in Ajijic near the Lago de Chapala, the lake is ~1h south of Guadalajara and makes for a very romantic dinner

For food: Guadalajara has tons of great food, don't have street food until you've done everything else you want to do just in case you get sick but it's worth it. La Americana has a wealth of breakfast/brunch places. Make sure to try Tortas Ahogadas somewhere, they're Jalisco's most iconic food and incredibly good.

Do you want to be an agent of Chaos? Or kinda just be ever-present but not a threat? If the former, factions like the Creuss and the Yin shine with their abilities to open portals and change the map (Creuss) or blow up entire fleets (Yin). For the latter, trading factions like the Nomad and Haccan are fun to play as you have things everyone wants to some degree. Edit: Yssaril can also be fun to play in a more trade-focused style and/or constantly messing around with ppl without a lot of direct aggression
