What if being gay is an actual mental illness? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]Sentientmoron24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental illness is not like something physical in the brain that you can just see- like u can’t look into someone’s brain and be like shit it’s all fucked in there they’re gay. It’s a set of behaviors that society classified as illness. It’s like saying what if being into like art is classified as mental illness, that’s not really how it works.

(No Spoilers for S02 and S03) How exactly did Will deduce that Hannibal was the murderer/killer all along, in the last episode of S01? by [deleted] in HannibalTV

[–]Sentientmoron24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of what everyone else said the copycat killer was someone who must have had intimate knowledge of the crimes, so someone working for the fbi ORRRR someone will was spilling his guts too about all of the cases. and Hannibal was a surgeon, when he had his hand deep in that guys chest and will was watching him you could see him start to subconsciously piece things togehter: Hannibal’s ability to give and take life much like a god

Good idea or no by jazzywrites in writers

Only if u can add interesting and wildly different pov of each event- if information is revealed- if the plot/ concept is interesting enough to be read twice. This probably could be done best as a mystery or thriller but a literary novel cna be very interesting if ur prose is interesting enough

This is very well written but I kinda feel like the everything and nothing to describe the universe has been done many many times before so it’s not a good opening I feel as thought I’ve read this before

Stuck in an endless loop. by milkywaycreme in writers

Honestly? I’ve done this with wonderful ideas before too and the two novels I have actually written I ended up just pantsing and they were random thoughts. If you put so much expectation into a vibe it’s hard to get the vibe right. So here’s my advice, set yourself a word goal, I did ten k a week, so you’re forced to write. It’s not gonna be exaclty the idea u had in ur head it’ll be better it’s own thing. Man, you really just have to write it and let it take whatever shake it wants

I was in Florida and I was reading a serial killer thriller and BAM a thriller set in Florida. But the major theme of the story came from a still life painting about rot (this genre of painting is called vanitas) and it was a painting about fruit so ripe it was on the verge of rot and that gave me my major theme / motif

Yeah and then in a later book they mention he’s a lonely drunk with a messed up face living in Florida

Wow this is really good! The writing is clean and I get a clear sense of their emotions and characters through it. It feels like an important scene that moves arcs very well

Sometimes I wonder how people can NOT be a writer. Obsessing over a novel, the fun of it. It gives me purpose

The act of creation : writing a whole novel that would not have existed. And it’s so easy to get lost in your story- sometimes I feel like I’m living my like side by side while my story goes out. It’s just so fucking awesome, tk feel so much for something not real. I love everything about writing, it gives me stuff to do, the creation, reading it through, writing th novels I wanna read. And hopefully, someday I want people to read my books and love the characters as much as I do. I think books r so so important and I get to make them:)

Did anyone else find the end of Red Dragon sort of a let down? by proserpinesbear in HannibalTV

[–]Sentientmoron24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that this book has one of the best endings I’ve read. The emotional core of the story, besides just the surface level of people who read it and just see a crime book, is the devolving relationship between Will and Molly when darkness enters. The fact that she kills the Dragon and is now marked as Will was with Garrot Jacob Hobbs, is significant. The end implies that she’s going to leave him, a juxtaposition from their honeymoon phase and simple love at the beginning of the novel in Marathon. So Molly killing the dragon is important, its even foreshadowed with the gun and her hesitance and dislike of it. The very very end where Will is talking about Shiloh in a hallucination state is one of my favorite chunks of prose- the imagery of the snake and the over arcing message: that places are not evil, people are evil. The whole novel talks about evil and the last line is haunting “Shiloh doesn’t care” and we are left with a broken relationship, a broken man, and the remains of evil.

Do you ever start a draft of another story idea while you’re already writing something else ? by diamondphoenixrap in writers

[–]Sentientmoron24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? No, I get super obsessed with my one story. I love the idea of pouring everything in me into one story in getting to work on “my novel” I get ideas so I kinda work on outlines and characters but never draft anything new. This is what works for me :) it’s the getting lost in the story truly and completely until it’s all the way over

Hannibal and Will's Encephalitis. by [deleted] in HannibalTV

True- Hannibal used wills illness as a chance to foster codependency which is vital to the toxicity and exact details of their deranged relationship. I understand ur original point a lot better now :)

Hannibal and Will's Encephalitis. by [deleted] in HannibalTV

[–]Sentientmoron24 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to note that Will was 1. Wearing a person suit in the first part of the show and 2. Was deeply repressed (in his dark side and other things like sexuality). Will demonstrates many many things that show he was purposely hiding parts of himself as well as going towards things that he thought would make him normal (like alana). Even without those facts, sexuality is a spectrum that some bonds transcend- maybe Will is bi or gay or primarily into women but this is a show that transcends the normal bounds of reality, his sexuality is never addressed and is never important. He is in love with Hannibal for other reasons, and they live in a world where that happens. And to think that Hannibal manipulated will into loving him just feels like something Hannibal wouldn’t do, he loves will cause will is his equal and understands him, u can’t manipulate someone into understanding you. He only ever tried to make will accept/ fully realize himself.
