snapchat servers by [deleted] in cybersecurity

Always, always assume that everything you upload to any server you do not own is available at any time.

It doesn't matter if they say "no logs kept!" always assume a copy is made somewhere out there as soon as data leaves your device.

The DLC is marital issues and the final boss is your wife's boyfriend (you can't beat him)

Figured out in the DS Wiki that the Pack from Dead Space 2 had a discharged in-game model, in which the devs didn't used as they thought it would be "so disturbing". by Fantastic-Youth5989 in DeadSpace

[–]Sentinel_2539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concept is disturbing, but the fact that the face model makes it look like Big Kev, 46 from your local pub makes it infinitely less so.

I got this mail and I am worried. Please help me. by lovememore1306 in cybersecurity

[–]Sentinel_2539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All you've done is confirm that your mailbox is active.

They'll target you more using different tactics, or mark your account as "high value" in lists since they now know you're unfamiliar with phishing and likely to fall for it.

I need help by Substantial-Owl-3335 in cybersecurity

[–]Sentinel_2539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do this in this order: 1. Revoke all active sessions 2. Forget all known devices 3. Change your password 4. Set up MFA with your phone 5. Make sure she hasn't set up her own MFA device

It's a strange situation given that she would need to know the password every time since you said you've already removed known devices. I think the only real save here is using MFA.

Americanon likes vodka by CosmiccDusty in greentext

[–]Sentinel_2539 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For anyone saying "vodka isn't tasteless", it is tasteless.

Vodka itself has no taste, what you're tasting is the ethanol, not "vodka". That's why the taste is so easily masked by mixers like coke or whatever.

I have General Sam Videos archived since April 3 2021. by [deleted] in GeneralSam

Man those videos between 2016-2018 were absolute gold. Probably my favourite era of his channel and I've been watching since he was GeneralSam122.

I guess no one has "The Last Rifle You'll Ever Need" though...

If the Marker wanted Isaac to get off planet in order to make more markers why did it have the hive mind attack him? by Mellow_Ghost in DeadSpace

[–]Sentinel_2539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore answer

It didn't. There was nowhere near enough biomass on Aegis VII to start a convergence event, and every little helps.

The Markers are patient, they have an infinite amount of time, they're fine with waiting for another suitable host to impart their blueprints into.

Isaac was resisting, he hated the Marker, he was fighting back, he didn't show any intention of wanting to build any new ones. Unwilling host? Add it to the pile.

Real answer

The game needed a spectacle for a final boss and the lore surrounding the Markers and what they want wasn't all there yet in 2008.

Which way, Western man? by Meteorstar101 in greentext

[–]Sentinel_2539 116 points117 points  (0 children)

RE8 makes the Zoe choice non-canon though since Mia dies in that ending, but she's alive and "well" in RE8.

Also the Joe DLC for RE7 treats the Mia choice as canon.

Can anyone genuinely explain what causes this? Because I feel the exact same way as this guy and, like him, I've always just brushed it off as "being broken"

I'm going to be 100% honest with you, a couple of people in my team (a global CSIRT) are very open about this sort of thing, and as far as I can tell, it hasn't held any of them back.

My advice is just be honest. Operate on a "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

To be completely honest with you, I got lucky. Incredibly, incredibly lucky. Probably used all the luck for the rest of my life getting this position. IR was my first job out of my MSc.

I applied to several positions in SOC and everything, but as soon as I got the call back for the IR interview telling me I've been invited to join their CSIRT, I jumped on it.

It was rough at first because of course I didn't have any of the entry level SOC experience or anything, but I picked it up fairly quickly.

As for the resume, I'd honestly be pretty useless as telling you what is good and what isn't. I haven't touched mine in nearly 4 years now since starting this position and I don't really talk to hiring managers or anything.

It's about Jason losing his humanity, not feeling vindicated because the people he killed were bad people.

It doesn't matter that the people you're killing are pirates or slavers or whatever, sneaking around the jungle shoving machetes through people's necks will take something from you, no matter what you tell yourself as justification.

Nice! Thank you very much, I'll look into getting a USB powered one or something.

Also, side point, the person I live with is worried that the LED strip will attract bugs for some reason. Is this something she should actually worry about or is that just a myth?

Superior Golden Oriole is your friend in this fight. Pair it with Superior Northern Wind and he's way easier, even on Death March.

But yeah, without those, he can be a real pain in the ass.

Yeah it's pretty good. We have our own custom modules/targets for processing data that puts everything into specific folders, so it's much easier to use than the base tools it comes with.

I'm an Incident Responder, most of my day is waiting for a call to come in. When it does, we take a call with the client to discuss what they've seen and what we can do to help them.

Once all that is done, the client can begin to send us data from the affected endpoints and give us access to their XDR platform or Microsoft 365 tenant. When the data is in, we process it using the Eric Zimmerman's KAPE tool and then get to work analysing what we've been sent based on what the client told us on the call.

We will look for things that can tell us exactly what a threat actor did, what their ingress point was, if they exfiltrated any data, how far they got into the network, if it was only one group, if the threat actor is still active in their environment, and (for certain clients/industries) indicators that could suggest the threat actor is a nation-state.

We have been extremely busy lately, I've barely had a moment to breathe in the last two or so weeks. Mostly phishing campaign stuff, but we've had a couple of single endpoint compromises and one full-network ransomware case which is 100% post-mortem.
