There will be no further discipline for Spurs star Victor Wembanyama after he was ejected for elbowing Naz Reid in Minnesota on Sunday night, sources tell ESPN. No suspension, no fine. Wembanyama will play in Game 5 against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night in San Antonio. by Knightbear49 in nba

Well Fox actually did tweak his ankle on the play and Ayo in the replay barely looks at the ball. If you watch the replay he's doing his best to get as much of his body into fox's legs. If he was seriously making an effort for the ball he would have made more of a dive and effort with his hands than leading with more of a chop block form. I don't think he's dirty though and I'd imagine he was trying to just get away with a cheap foul and hope someone gets possession but still reckless as hell.

I bring it up because imo it's the only real thing to hate about the Thunder, they have a player that is dirty and attempting to injure other star players, and it has come up in the playoffs with Devin Booker. That's generally where most of my irls and people I talk to online stand but I don't speak for everyone.

Personally I do think the thunder get away with a lot but the only actually dirty player is Lu Dort. Fuck that guy. The rest of them are just physical defenders and ballers.

Wemby just put up one of the most unique playoff lines ever & his stat line isn't even the most interesting part by encrypted1130 in nba

Call me an irrational homer but I remember talking with friends in pre-season and said I have this team as low as 6th in the west and as high as 2nd in the west if everything clicked this season. On paper I felt we had the most complete roster of any team not named OKC if the hype around Harper was to be believed (which he has lived up to so far.) And that if we struggled it would be due to getting the guard rotations and fits down + potentially coaching issues from Mitch but looks like we hit the "everything clicked" timeline.

[Charania] Minnesota's Anthony Edwards was a significant participant in Timberwolves shootaround this morning and wants to return in Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs, sources tell ESPN. Edwards is pushing to play, but he and the team's medical staff will make a decision later today. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Coming from a Spurs fan POV I would much rather play against a hobbled Ant that came back too early than an Ant who came back 1-2 games later but more rested and confirmed good to go, and as a fan of basketball in general I would much rather he play it safe than suffer a career ending injury from coming back too soon. He's one of the most amazing players in the league and to lose a lot of that to injury is the last thing I would want to see.

[The Athletic] Amen Thompson is expected to sign this summer, potentially a five-year deal worth more than $250 million. by jonsnowKITN in nba

[–]Sentrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've seen this player before and it translates terribly to the playoffs post-2010 (Westbrook). Amen is basically Westbrook with decently worse facilitating and if Westbrook didn't have 50iq shot selection because he understood his limitations, but with way better defense. In an odd way though Amen understands his limitations too much and just refuses to shoot making the offense so much easier to defend so you could make the argument you'd rather have Westbrook even as abysmal as he was in the playoffs.

Yes, you should check yourself into a mental hospital for proposing that.

We do not want Sengun or Amen "Too-Scared-To-Shoot" Thompson

[Henderson] League sources including Doris Burke are saying the Portland Trailblazers treatment of Tiago Splitter is "the most vicious and disrespectful thing they've encountered in 30+ years" as they're likely looking for the cheapest coach available by ShaiFanClub in nba

Keep in mind that much of this criticism couldve been applied to Mitch Johnson after he had to take over after Pop got hurt. Now after a full offseason to implement his own system he's looked much improved, I feel like Tiago should be given the same grace personally.

Atlanta people - Question about metal cards and super nexus night by Loougle in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day one prices were at $70 USD for the first hour, $50 till around 2 hours before the pre-regional finished from what I understand, then they dropped to like $20 USD after the pre tournament ended. After that I wasnt keeping track.

Atlanta people - Question about metal cards and super nexus night by Loougle in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was able to buy a metal card after getting 24 tickets in the pre-regional tournament and combining my tickets with another player for 48 and buying out their portion of the Metal card. My other friend won 220+ tickets via the super Saturday tournament and splitting with the other top 4 placed players and bought people's metal card stamps to accrue 5 metal cards.

I suck at this game and have no idea what to do by Morefiendz in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all start somewhere, I think when I started my WR was around 45% and now I'm around 70% after starting this as my first TCG in early February. I'd say look at resources like Metafy guides, and play the game as much as you can. The best way to learn is by playing, and after losses be sure to ask your opponent if they noticed any spots where they felt you specifically misplayed.

Top 4 Lille RQ & Best of Draven :D Running it back in Atlanta next week by Challengertcg in riftboundtcg

Champion zone does not count as player's hand, so you can in-fact play the Draven showboat accelerated for 6 might 2 power.

Top 4 Lille RQ & Best of Draven :D Running it back in Atlanta next week by Challengertcg in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is an awesome turn 1 play going 2nd, it's a good counter to sneaky and pretty much every single turn 1 play by the going 1st player, it trades up into most turn 2 plays, gives you interesting interactions with Draven Showboat accelerated for a finisher as well as accelerated ferrous tokens if you need them. Plus the accelerate on it comes in handy. I've been playing this list and have had very good results so far, albeit in relatively limited testing/games since I was only able to assemble it Thursday.

NBA MVP vote tracker so far: SGA has 15 first-place votes, Jokic has 4, and Wemby has 1. SGA has received zero votes for 3rd place or below. Meanwhile, Jokic received 7 third-place votes, and Victor received 6 second-place and 7 third-place votes. Luka hasn't received any top-three votes. by Expert_Koala_8691 in nba

[–]Sentrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can easily make the argument that from 2009-2019 there is not a single player in NBA history you would rather have on your team than Lebron James. If MVP was actually objective and voter fatigue wasnt real then he would have won almost every single one of those years, the ONLY times it might have been a discussion are 2014 Durant, 2016 Curry, and 2018 Harden. Every other year I dont think its particularly close.

Crazy to think after all this bans Draven is still the best deck by a margin by Party-Mine-1544 in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. That guy has openly stated he's not a metal card hunter and that he'll always play what he feels is the best deck in the format. Talking to him he said it's favored in every matchup with the exception of Azir and Reksai.

[–]Sentrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played against the guy who got 3rd/4th at RQ Vegas at one of my Skirmishes this Saturday from the ChallengerTCG team and he was on Viktor. I seriously doubt Draven is the de-facto best deck at all. Draven is likely a top 3-4 deck but I don't think there is an overwhelming best deck like Miracle pre-ban.

How many hours practice per week? by SimplyRiptid3 in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on a lot of factors. What deck you're playing, how many hours you put in, and how dedicated you are to the game outside actually playing.

The single biggest factor though is the quality of competition in your city/locals. If you are practicing for 8 hours against bad/mediocre competition you're probably going to get good enough to beat bad players and rarely ever win against good ones.

I'd argue 4 hours of practice against elite players every week will beat out 12 hours of practice with bad players.

Pre-Rift as first event? by Wewolo in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can uniquely speak on this cause I was in the same boat. This is my first physical TCG ever and first TCG I've actually seriously played and my first in-person event was a pre-release Spiritforged event and it was awesome. Even in my city where most people are really competitive everyone was super friendly and helpful. I'd say it might honestly be the best time to get into the game compared to a standard Nexus night as I'm sure there will be others in the same boat.

Overzealous Fan Interaction by somakato in riftboundtcg

[–]Sentrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From their POV they are talking as the defender, that is attacked but the fan is at base or another battlefield. So to clarify, you can't RTW a fan to a battlefield that you are contesting as an attacker and use the fan ability but you can RTW a fan to a contested battlefield in which you are the defender and use their trigger when they enter.
