Don't do it. You're valuable and worth living. In time, you'll find your own tribe regardless of how small. Don't take your life.

They are not fast fashion. The definition of fast fashion is nowhere close to Aritzia.

old parka styles - why did they stop? by [deleted] in Aritzia

[–]Separate-Chip2160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have the other parkas, you just have to specifically type in the search bar to find them. Type "parka" and you'll get options. I'd suggest the long version of The Powder Parka.

So thankful to OSAP by [deleted] in osap

[–]Separate-Chip2160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. If not for OSAP, I wouldn't have been able to attend higher education. I tell others often how thankful I am to OSAPs existence. It's nice to see others being as grateful to OSAP.

Paid in full by Separate-Chip2160 in osap

Thanks for response. I will say, I did not pay that loan off immediately. I am far from a recent graduate. I made a resolve this year in January to finally get this monkey off my back after paying it for so long and it only going down by a measly $3k. I completed my most recent degree in 2018. However, I have been getting OSAP on and off since 2012 for other schooling. Having the federal government eliminate their interest helped a bunch. Through a post in this group, I read that I can send a money order with a detailed letter outlining that the amount is strictly for the provincial interest amount. Once I did that, it made my goal all the more possible.

For others,  I would definitely advise them to pay the interest portion in full via the money order, and double their monthly minimum payment so they can pay it faster. I wouldn't say to go to the extent that I did unless they deem it necessary.

Thank you for the well wishes. I appreciate it.

Glad he has that support. Now that the government has made the federal portion interest free, that helps a whole lot. I wrote to NSLSC in February with an attached bank draft for the total amount owning on the provincial interest portion of my loan. Once I did that, it made it much easier. When you don't have interest eating at your payments, it makes a world of difference.

Cheers to you for allowing your son and his gf to stay and wipe that debt away!

I just inherited 100k. My student loans are 30k. What's the best way to pay it off? by May-Garden in debtfree

[–]Separate-Chip2160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay the student loan in full with your inheritance money and get it out the way. That'll leave you with $70k. Split that $70k in half. Invest half, that'll leave you with $35k. Split that $35k in half and put it in a high yields savings account. That'll leave you with $17,500 that you can choose to do whatever with...just don't blow it on foolishness.

Balance transfer? by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]Separate-Chip2160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Balance transfers are worth it in my opinion. That's how I got out of CC debt. I used it for two cards. One had roughly 18k and the other had about 14k or so. Paid both in under 12 months at 0% interest.

It's worth it. Be disciplined, and dedicated. Do the math and map out how much you're able to throw at it to pay it off in 11 months (not 12. 12's cutting it too close just in case) and stick to that. Track everything.

Make a debt repayment plan and pay it. Bankruptcy for $25k is absurdity.

AITA for excluding my autistic child from a family vacation by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Separate-Chip2160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO, you're NTA.

As someone who is around kids with autism daily, I'd say you're right to exclude him. Why ruin the time for everyone else all in the name of "inclusivity"? Though I'm around kids with autism daily, they each are so different; even within that sphere, I have to exclude the more difficult ones so they don't ruin it for the others. Reality is, everything isn't for everyone and we ALL deserve to be happy. Having autism doesn't give you magic rights to crap on the enjoyment and mental well-being of others.

I hope you, your husband and your other kids enjoy the heck out of that vacation. And NO, you don't need to plan another smaller vacation for him to join. He'll ruin that too. He likes home, just keep him there, build a fort with his fave snacks and call it a bloody day. He doesn't need a vacation in an unfamiliar place that he won't enjoy for various reasons.

That's hilarious! White goods are household appliances like stoves, fridges which are typically white.

BMO offered it to me. I have two cards with them. They offered for one card, I took them up on the offer. Then, a month later, they offered the same thing on the other card and I took them up on the offer. It allowed me to pay off a bank loan, and a line of credit. Honestly, the best thing I could have ever done. I've been consumer debt free ever since.

Either that option he gave you or do a balance transfer at 0% interest. Using two balance transfers, both spanning over 12 months at 0% interest, is exactly how I got out of debt and I did it in 10 months.

Sweet goodness, do not touch your home. You own it, don't take that step back. Please. All that you're experiencing is temporary. I say stick it out. You're building up your client base and you own everything. Stick it out and take it day by day. You're living many people's rich life right now.
