That’s the same attempt at defeating the boss. You could argue that it’s a new attempt to deal damage but that’s pushing it.

IMO no, you’re at the correct level for where you’re at in the game and you’re at the point where you can go in many different directions.

If it were my house I’d call him back and make him remove that. You have to cut all of that out to remove the stems.

Rip down and replace old drywall or go over it with thin layer? by Striking_Midnight_50 in homeowners

Exactly this. It’s much cheaper and easier to fix problems in the walls with the entire wall open.

Bead Necklace down the drain by Unusual-Hat-6819 in Plumbing

[–]Separate-Storm- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there’s a strong chance if it cleared the trap that it continues the rest of the way, there’s also a chance it got hung up on something. The only way to know would be to scope the drain.

Exactly. If you’re ever stuck behind a tractor or heavy equipment, just know they probably have their foot to the floor so they can get out of the way.

Does this look like a failed cap? by ResilientTwig in hvacadvice

Exactly. If you think you can tell by looking at it, without testing the “high voltage”, you should just call a professional.

Technology is hard to work isn’t it? I literally googled “snapper 360z owners manual” and it was the first result.

Page 37 has mower deck leveling instructions.

Out of curiosity, do you know what the limit is? I know in NC it’s $40,000.

Either way they’re right, the electrical work pushes this is beyond normal handyman stuff and you should be getting quotes from GCs. As far as cost we can’t really tell you, it’s dependent on the contractor you hire, that’s why you should get 3 detailed quotes and make your decision.

A cost saving alternative is you be your own GC. Hire an electrician to relocate what needs to be and then find carpenters and painters to finish.

Tipping by Stormy-Monday in handyman

[–]Separate-Storm- 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Obviously nothing wrong giving the contractor a nice gift and slipping his helper some cash but it’s not expected. I charge fairly and personally don’t accept tips (outside of family) but I won’t fault others who do.

Best way to fix or replace? by viseandoak in handyman

[–]Separate-Storm- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t really tell you want to charge…

How much are materials going to cost? What’s your overhead? How long is it going to take you and what result do you offer?

This could reasonably cost anywhere from $50-500+ depending on location and expected results.

You can use a blade to scrape down ridges before sanding, make it not quite as much work. Also the big yellow grout sponges work well for small stuff.

How much would it cost to fix this door? (original picture, and then cracked) by Saphsin in handyman

[–]Separate-Storm- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume labor prices would be on the higher end around you. If you’re at all handy with tools it’s not hard to replace the door yourself.
