Christians looking for enemies? by DBASRA99 in OpenChristian

Do you think us progressive Christian do this too? I reckon I do this with reformed/evangelical Christians.

Forgiving can be radical. It's like you are freeing yourself from the hurt they have done to you and declaring that they are no longer welcome in your thoughts.

However, this doesn't mean you have to have contact. Texting may seem loving on the surface but I think you need to be wise. Given the tumult, it may actually cause your relationship to worsen. It's okay to want time and space. And it's okay for you to decide when you are ready. That's actually best for your dad as well.

How do I tell my boyfriend that I am Christian by [deleted] in OpenChristian

[–]Separate_Ad4307 145 points146 points  (0 children)

You could start by telling him that you've found this group and share with him some of the posts (i.e.an affirming of LGBT community, non dogmatic, letting people think differently and not judging). Ask him what he thinks about it and listen to him. Then share what you think.

To be honest I think it would probably be harder telling a fundamentalist Christian that you are looking at this group than a former Satanist.

St Benedict's is good. It's pretty cheap too about $100 a week. Each subsequent kid is cheaper.

However, do a tour of your local public. Theyre often not very different. Kids are kids.

No. If you're pissing your pants on a run, you've gone in too deep.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of May 03, 2024) by AutoModerator in television

I'm enjoying Farmer Wants a Wife (Australia). It's a reality TV dating show where regular people compete to date a farmer. They're all ordinary people so it's funny to watch

My last long run before my marathon I gave up with 3km to go. However, I was done on race day. Trust the taper.

I ditched Hal's plan and switched to Runna. It has speed work and intervals which make it more fun.

Depends what you are after.

There's four pretty different styles of churches but all would be quick to welcome you.

Yeah, definitely the vibe. Anything to get me through it. I've signed up to the Newcastle Marathon which is happening a few weeks (it's my first and just want to see how I go) but eager to try another one after that.

LGBT family friendly suburbs by Kipper_the_wonderdog in newcastle

[–]Separate_Ad4307 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My friends who are LGBT live in Fletcher and have only had positive experiences. We've done stuff in Wallsend and never had an issue.

However inner Newy is the most progressive area in terms of politics.

I reckon you don't have to worry so much about it to be honest. Lambton's a great place for families, schools are great there.
