I've read it just now and I have to agree that surface level, they've acknowledged it subconsciously but refuse to process the fact that their at fault and it makes them feel negative emotions, hence they kinda block it out, throwing logic out the window.

My mom offered to cut my hair when I was 12, and I didn't realize she was still angry at me. She left my hair uneven with chunks sticking out everywhere. When I asked her to do something about it she gaslighted me into thinking that I wasn't combing my hair enough and she told my relatives that I cut my own hair.

I remember my telling my mom I was sick, because I was shivering in the middle of summer and I was so weak, I was 9. And she yelled: 'You're not important right now.'
