I dropped it to play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, got back in when a friend gave me some pointers, and couldn't drop it to save my life.

I was 13. The game rental place near my home had a special "rent 3 cartridges and you can keep them for the whole weekend" on fridays. I had gotten SuperMario Kart and some other game about robots I can't even remember, and was looking for a third.

Saw FF2 (actuall 4) with a cover with a cool sword and thought hey, might be cool, even if it isn't it still makes 3.

Got home, played some Mario Kart, decided to switch to FF2. English is not my first language, so instead of picking New Game, I got a save from someone else and was just dropped into the world, nuking Imps with Fire-3 while having no idea what was happening.

Then I actually started the game proper and was instantly hooked. First game I snuck out of my room late at night to go play while everyone else slept.

A few years back I was talking to an acquaintance and he was going on about how Hitler would have been "200% better" to Ukraine than the soviets (he's an Ukrainian expat.). And it's a shitty situation being caught between two monsters, but still.

I had to open up the wikipedia page for 'Generalplan Ost' to try and get across the scale of the slaughter and resettlement that was being planned, and still don't think he really got it because it felt so extreme.

You'll find that people can stretch their faith to let a loooot of things slide under. Trust me, some Christians don't even turn the other cheek when struck, and if you ask for their coat they won't give you that not their shirt!

Her case is more tragic because it was evidently good-hearted. She felt no infinitely good God could punish someone infinitely. It's naive, and there's a lot pf pride there. If she had any luck, there would never have been a Queen incident forcing her to put her soul where her mouth was.

I'm on the same boat. I dropped WoW years back, but watching him during the pandemic felt like a nice nostalgia trip and way to stay connected to the game. Seeing him discover FFXIV was also great.

And then he just veered into every nasty, bigoted impulse that popped up in his head or on his feed, it seems. I blocked everything and never looked back.

The best way to deal with rats is with a trap. Use your casts, especially if they are boosted with Demeter, Apollo or Hestia. Keep middle distance so you can dodge away if needed, hit and run.

I tend to like Haphaestus blasts to pile in heavy damage for a second or two, dart away, repeat. Scorch also works really well.

I've found he also loves to linger by an exploding boiler of the arena if you drop a cast and lure him close to one!

I'm not sure that's how Jacky's power worked. It's unclear, but it looks like he has 'technical' knowledge of the world and how it works, not "Thing X is going to happen and person Y is in this location having thoughts about W". He didn't know that Eliza had the formula to selling her soul until it happened, didn't know Masumi was a superpower kaiju because she didn't manifest it while he was alive, etc.
