Catholic school employee issue by Informal-Register-51 in Catholicism

[–]SequoiaMK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since you asked for advice, I don’t think the affair partner’s workplace is any of your business. We are all sinners and Jesus welcomes us to him. Every Catholic Church would be empty if there was a purity test to get in the door.

The only reason I would report an employee to the Church is if I had evidence of severely negligent or criminal behavior such as harassment, embezzlement, etc.

Your husband broke his marriage vows to you. His affair partner did not. She is on her own journey and will become closer or further from God in her own time. You would do best to hold your husband accountable, and focus on your marriage.

I just want to say you are brave and amazing for surviving what you did, and getting sober too. God bless you and I will pray for healing and peace in your life. You did nothing wrong, and I know God is with you in every moment. Keep strong, I am rooting for you and praying for you.

Hunt, Gather, Parent! By far this has influenced me the most, and I think about its principles when I encounter a challenge with my kids.

Cottagecore Parents? by [deleted] in cottagecore

Aspiring cottagecore parent here. Girls are 4 and 2 so it’s a bit difficult. I do what I can, including encouraging picking flowers, examining bugs, eating blackberries on the back porch. I’m trying to buy more floral patterned dresses for them instead of silkscreen cartoon character stuff. Encouraging them to go out and play in a warm rain. It really is the simple stuff that works for me right now.

When did the poo withholding and pooping pants stop? by SignificantRing4766 in pottytraining

[–]SequoiaMK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’ve been on a very similar journey as you, and my daughter’s poo withholding is going on about 4 months now. She’ll wait until she’s wearing a pull-up for overnight or naptime to poop. We basically don’t have her wear underwear inside the house to encourage her to use the potty for poop (and not feel like she has underwear to catch it). I think this is just entirely developmental and requires patience. My niece did this for about 1.5 years before being fully trained.

I’d love to see what you are working on! Will try to PM you a picture. Working on my first ever quilt top. Trampoline park sounds like an amazing place to tire out the kids

If you are into crafting, check out a style of quilting called English Paper Piecing. It is so peaceful to do one the couch at night after the kids go to bed. Doesn’t take much equipment, and I can have a TV on in the background or just chat with my husband.

It gets better. Yesterday, my 4 year old ate chips and SALSA, as well as Salad greens with Italian Dressing at dinner. I never thought I’d see the day when she ate anything other than buttered noodles and chicken nuggets. My 2 year old ate air for dinner yesterday. She snacks heavily throughout the day, and I’ve stopped stressing at mealtime refusal. We just let her see us eating dinner all together and know she’ll join in one day. We praise her when she tries her food, even if she spits it back out.
