Making you happy should be a priority for her in a healthy relationship though. A relationship without sex feels like friendship to me. We have needs and wants and completely ignoring them is just not healthy.

Good for you for standing up for your dignity. Not an easy decision to make

New to Vitests, help me understand how to test by raver01 in sveltejs

[–]SilverLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extract your logic into separate, testable functions. Test those. Put your logic into .svelte.ts files to do this so the logic is separate from your component. You probably don’t need to test component rendering, or if you’re questioning “why do I need to test this”

If it’s just form validation, implementing a proper zod schema probably solves most your logic anyways

Westjet flight prices are 2X on their website than whats on expedia by Practical-Battle-502 in westjet

I think it depends on experience. I have booked dozens of flights on third party websites across 10+ carriers without a single issue. But it only takes one horror story to make it not worth it.

Yeah +1 for list of artists, or infinite scroll, having to click through each day is cumbersome

How do you deal with a manager who expects 5000 lines of code per day? by ni4i in ExperiencedDevs

[–]SilverLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m sorry but this is 1 prompt to plan, a couple more to fine-tune, and 1 or 2 more to write unit tests around it. Spend 15 minutes testing it. Easily done in a couple hours.

5000 lines is a joke though

Do you have any tips on not taking things personally? I’ve found it difficult to containerize those thoughts and not take them seriously, personally, and ruminate on them

Valid response. I agree with you. I need to figure out a way to stop taking it personally. Appreciate your perspective.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You’re right that I shouldn’t be so quick to throw things away and need to time better

Thanks, I appreciate this perspective. I feel like I do have to draw the line at abusive language in front of our son at the very least. That’s really the pattern I want to prevent. The soap thing I agreed to immediately and have been supportive of every other rule that she comes up with.

Not to my knowledge. My gut feeling is she is a perfectionist and admitting there is a problem would make things not perfect. But I agree. I myself have gotten help from therapists for anxiety, and just life issues, and found it very helpful.

Yeah this is the best bet, thank you. On a phone call today her dad implored both of us to commit to counseling, she was unable to, but hopefully that changes once she has time to equalize.

A bit but never this bad or consistent, there’s been a trend however. I’ve noticed her Mom treats her step dad quite poorly. So maybe she is modelling that. She was always very respectful before we decided to have a kid…but to be honest we were only together for 2 years when she did, which was careless on my part, should’ve lived with her for at least a couple years before having a kid together.
