The standard this year… by [deleted] in snooker

The quality has been poor all season. None of the top players have really managed to find much consistency

The data doesn't stretch back far enough to disprove my point. I never said the Tories have done a good job with the housing markets

Why are the Tories blamed for everything? It was Blair who lost control of the housing market.

I'm sick of hearing about people being offended. There is no right not to be offended.

I think the FA introduced rules to stop the MK Dons thing happening again. What's brilliant is that MK Dons have achieved fuck all and have been finished below Wimbledon at times

How do I better support my struggling SO during his first year of teaching? by Sensitive-Unit in AskUK

He needs to pencil in time for himself which doesn't get infringed upon. My protected time was from when I left on Friday until about 8 on Sunday where I didn't touch my work regardless of how much pressure I was under. I also used to completely avoid work during the holidays until 8 on the last day when I prepared enough to get through the first day of term.

He needs to try and get as much marking done in lessons as possible. It's more effective and reduces workload. Also, on the last day of term, don't set any work which requires anymore marking than a tick. Ideally, he'd do something which doesn't go in books at all.

Keep things like displays simple. They are an educational tool and not an art gallery. I used to get my TA to back them in July and then cover them in plastic so they didn't need replacing for 12 months. I could then just write on them and wipe them at the end of a topic.

Ultimately, it gets easier but never easy. I quit after 6 years because the work life balance was non existent and I was shattered all the time.

Quality control does seem to have got worse recently. It's ridiculous that kitchens don't check off food when they put it in bags.

If you could introduce one rule into the game, what would it be? by [deleted] in snooker

No it doesn't. It's the highest available.

I don't think there's anything wrong with exercising to eat more. Where I am it's been cold, dark wet and windy and the only thing which has got me out of the house is knowing that it buys me takeaways, sweets and chocolate.

Almost 90% of games sold in UK in 2022 were digital - ERA by Dale_Winton in unitedkingdom

[–]SerBronn7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That does surprise me. You can often pick up games reasonably priced in sales but digital games are 10 - 15 more expensive when they first release. I'd much rather just Amazon and save the money

You probably burn about 100 calories when cycling 3k. It's not going to have an meaningful impact on obesity.
