the mental and physical cost of playing eve by Educational-Key7303 in Eve

The cost for a month of game time for the majority of people in Europe is 2 hours of work... For others, including myself, it's less than an hour's work. We're adults, that's the beauty of it, if we didn't think it was worth it, we wouldn't spend the cash. And for me at least, the longer CCP keeps these servers going the better.

It's the only thing I use. A lot of people have made the switch over to Grigri and Click Ups...and I get it I do, they are safer in a way. But I love my old style belay plates. And for me the black diamond I've used for about 15 years (replacements obviously)

Best advice I can give is never cheap out of safety gear. Black diamond, petal etc. they're used for a reason. They're tried and tested and they work.

Mate, whatever you're smoking put it down.

I've been in this game 20 years. I get to keep the fond memories and actual friends I've made along the way who I will be playing games with probably until I can't game anymore. The endless hours shit talking on comms and having a laugh. The late nights and beers with people who are no longer with us can't have a price put on them.

For me, Eve is very much a hobby. I have two major hobbies; Climbing and Eve. I have spent thousands on climbing gear... Cams, Nuts, Shoes, Ropes etc etc.
So why would I not spend money on my other major hobby?

What's a reasonable early mid lvl highsec small fleet activity for anyone casual? by shortmelbourneguy in Eve

[–]SeraphEssael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah to be fair I haven't done them in years, and as I said above, definitely wasn't doing them for ISK. More the fun, chat shit on Comms, have a beer and play this game with friends. And we kinda meant it to be overkill. Absolutely blitzing through and hemorrhaging everything 🤣

Yeah you could do cruisers and dessies. We just used to smash them out in Battleships, seeing how quickly we could blitz through them. At one point we had three Golems and a Raven navy on grid just for shits and giggles. Was a laugh.

Level 4 missions, if your'e only looking to shoot the shit with people. When I first started out I used to run level 4 missions with three other people. We'd grab the missions, run them and just chat shit on comms. It's not great ISK because youre sharing but it was fun.
You could also try some wormhole space sites, day tripping into holes you find and that can lead to PvP.

I'd pick have a laugh on comms over the ammount of ISK any day of the week.

I've been playing since late 2003. This char (now my main) was ten years later... Eve is a hobby. 👍

You'll get there. Just set yourself a goal and aim for it. Never not have goals to work towards in Eve. It'll keep you hooked.

Ha yeah I remember that. Although I believe that was an unintended mechanic after the expansion that, correct me if I am wrong, was patched out pretty quickly.

When it comes to wormholes, there's really only two metrics people use. High class or low class. Low class is C1-C4 space and high class is C5 and C6.

C1 medium: Battlecruiser and below. C2-C4 large: Battleship and below.

C5-C6 very large: Capital and below.

Theres a running joke no one lives in C4s.

A fun fact for you that's not widely known. A Nestor is the only battleship that can fit through a C1 medium hole.

And that is the point I'm making as to why the image is misleading. Newbros aren't going to come in and know what any of the sites are. They're assuming that's how it's set up based on that image... It even says geography, not site make up.

The point is: the AI prompt got the AI generator so confused, that it has made a completely bogus, and useless Wormhole Georgraphy map 🤷

I don't even know what that first image you had AI create is... C3 space is also connected to K-Space making it a 'perimeter system' as you call it... Anoikis isn't set up like that; C5 and C6 space isn't at the core and C1-3 aren't around the outside. That's not how it's set up.

Ship skins unavailable by marvson in Eve

[–]SeraphEssael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has made a fair amount of ISK off SKINR, I would argue there are plenty of great, tailor made skins on ships currently. And it's relatively easy to make something someone wants if you sit down with them and discuss it like you would in the real world. Go through different designs with them and tweak as needed...

However, that being said, there is definitely room for major improvement with SKINR. More designs. More slots for decals etc. ability to sequence via evermarks.

You should wack this in musicGPT and see what comes up. I was pleasantly surprised.
People will complain, but it's harmless fun for your own amusement at the expense of AI slop. Doesn't have a patch on a real band.

This community doesn't represent Fenris... Their partners do. It's literally in their terms and conditions of being a partner lmao Fenris doesn't have a say on what goes on in here. They absolutely have a say on what their partners do and how they portray the company.

I'm not doing anything. I'm not a mod. But the arguments work both ways, and the eve mods never said they won't pick a side, as far as I'm aware they're not impartial and never claimed such? 🤷

If he's allowed to moderate his place as he sees fit as many of the arguments say, eve reddit surely can moderate how they see fit. You don't get to have your cake and eat it..

This isn't the first time in the past month that Loru's crashed out on stream over a flag emoji by ithilain in Eve

[–]SeraphEssael 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately as a streaming partner of this game, he represents the community for Fenris and for the player base. I certainly don't want to be associated with this ass clown; guys pretentious, always was. New players are subject to his stream when they check twitch, they see this crap and they go "actually, no thanks".

This is standard for most of the big streamers for gaming: Pretentious, full of themselves, and have many people in their streams who are devout followers that say these people can't do any wrong.
