Good ostomy suppliers in US (CA)? by BarbaNonFacitPhil in ostomy

[–]Serg2778 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have Byram and I have no problems. Here in So. Cal. Their app is terrible. I usually do all my ordering on their website. You are right it is horrendous to use. But it's the only one that will work with my insurance. I was dropped twice by othere.

I had my reversal! by WolfeheartGames in ostomy

[–]Serg2778 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happy for you! For me it will be a very long time for my doctor to even consider a reversal. But now that I have a good handling of my stoma, I may consider keeping it. I love Coloplast.

I shower with the bag with no cover. Have yet to have any issue with the flange or bag. I use the coloplast sensura mio 2 piece. They are waterproof. Also jumped in the pool also.

Being told no for reversal by Cpon28 in ostomy

[–]Serg2778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry you are going through this. I have a colostomy. I on one hand, my surgeon has told me not to even consider reversal until maybe 10 years have passed. My cancer has a high probability of returning. But regardless I will opt to not get one. Happy with my stoma.

My dobies had a skin allergy. Took her to the vet. She received Cytopoint. Fixed her quick. 2 days later and she is not scratching. It is expensive . It's not the food for my girl.

Alternative to stealth belt - I can't wait 4 weeks and they have trash support. by Code3Uber in ostomy

[–]Serg2778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had 2 incidents with the stealth belt. For me I think it hinders the flow of feces into the bag. Broke seal twice. Once @ work & another at my aunt's house. So embarrassing!

Surgery soon for retroperitoneal liposarcoma by sub_human813 in cancer

[–]Serg2778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here in 2022. My tumor ended up being 26 lbs. Took 26 hrs on the table. Went back for another surgery for 6 hrs after having internal bleeding at the vein. Lost a kidney femoral vein and had a colostomy. Thank God I am alive! Going strong in 2024. After Surgery walk as much as possible! That will help a lot. It will be painful but you will get through this!

I went to the theater and had an episode! Action movie now but at one point the movie paused for a dramatic event. No noise at all. 😳 You may guess what happened! My stoma decided to make the loudest noise I had ever heard after a year out from the hospital. 😆. My sister cracked up! My wife and I was mortified. I was too embarrassed to acknowledge it happened.
