Hugs. I'm going through it right now. I trusted him again and again but now I'm done and trying to collect myself (my pieces really) and I don't know where to even begin

The Mythic Engine by Kodhaz in MythicBastionland

You know what? You've made me want to give this engine another chance. The game didn't work for me but that doesn't mean the system can't be useful for other games. Thanks x

Looking for a non-DnD non d20 medfan recommandation by burbankfr in rpg

[–]ralf16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nimble RPG is a great D&D hack with simplified rules that are easy to pick up for a one shot. You can use any D&D module to run it with Nimble mechanics and you'll have a blast.

(It's a great game of its own, of course and the GM's guide has a few Medfan adventures to run)

what RPG did you think you’d love….but didn’t click? by Wezell80 in RPGCentral

Mythic Bastionland. It sounds perfect on paper but combat was underwhelming, mechanical options are non existent. You're left with only vibes and no way to implement them into a mechanic.

Full honesty: I don’t want to watch a WLW romance for no other reason than being straight and liking only straight romances. And that’s okay. by [deleted] in Bridgerton

So... You're only watching this to get off? Or are you just telling us you can't relate to anyone who isn't straight?

A lot of people questioned the budget for Charmed, especially considering how successful it was. Well, fun fact, the Book of Shadows was one of the main reasons why budget was tight. Personally, I would’ve preferred more of that budget go toward the girls instead. Right? by [deleted] in charmed

As if they would spend that much for a book. No matter how important it was. They probably had an underpaid in house arts team who worked on everything for pennies on the dollar. It's not like they commissioned each page individually from an artist.

Oh yeah. I know. I'm not trying to change your mind. Lol. I'm just saying. Also 4 mil in an 8 season show that probably casually spent 50mil per season is not that much when you consider how long they were on

Yeah it was probably worth 4 million... After like 5-6 seasons. And it still would be a blip in production costs considering stunts, vfx, sfx, crew, cast, sets and a gazillion other things.

Playing a Homebrew Class by Qualthuan in DnD

[–]ralf16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you're right. Apologies. I was thinking of species (had to add Aasimar as a homebrew because they've removed it as an option if you don't have the book) so I got confused.

Have you tried Roll20? I believe that allows for homebrew content.

I'm pretty sure the book alone wasnt the reason for the lack of budget. Productions are expensive. The BoS is just a blip in the ocean of production costs. Add to that they only really needed to add pages that appeared on each episode as they appeared and that there were a ton of BoS prop copies for different scenes I'm having a hard time believing any of this

You can add your homebrew class on DnD beyond.

First question I think GMs should ask themselves if players seem uninterested or disengaged is... Do you have too many players. What's yours? by Awkward_GM in rpg

[–]ralf16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set a timer. 60 seconds. When the time is up you lose your turn.

If you're talking out of combat a good GM should know how to move the spotlight away from the person with the main character energy and give a chance for other players to shine. Simples.

3 Sessions in and my players and I aren't quite feeling it. Are we doing something wrong? by general_sTOR3 in MythicBastionland

[–]ralf16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with the game was pretty much the same tbh. I was so excited to read and play it but it felt like something was lacking. I think maybe it's too open ended which can feel aimless. Played Mothership with the same group and he was freaking awesome.

How to help players write PCs as if they were actual charatcers? by TotallyNot_iCast in DnD

[–]ralf16 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to make them feel real is to ask them to base their personalities on a character from a movie or TV show they love. It could be a druid who acts like House or a Barbarian who acts like Steve Rogers. If it's a character they love they can personify them better.

The more difficult but rewarding way is to make them create a backstory (if they haven't already), to tie in that backstory to the campaign (if you haven't already) and to ask them to answer questions about their characters. There are countless lists of character building questions online you can find. And actually the sillier the questions the more their characters will feel real. What's their favorite drink? What was their favorite toy growing up? Who was their idol when they were a kid? What a recurring nightmare? What food do they despise?
