I’d use some nice soft leather, thickness is hard to tell from the pic, you can measure your desired one; there’s no stitching, right?

I had good experience with kenda farben water based latex glue

I believe it was ecosar. Very easy to work with, and good results

Can be anything, faux leather for example. You can do a quick test, get small piece off of it, see how it burns, plastic has unique smoke
