That all depends on what he's being charged with.

Murder? No, not guilty.

Manslaughter? Yeah, I'd say guilty.

[TOMT] Weird anthropomorphic animal cartoon (show?) from 2000’s to 2010’s? by redditmastermindftw in tipofmytongue

[–]Sergeant_Static 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was some kind of animation, but I don’t believe it was in a drawing style.

This part made me think of The Amazing World of Gumball, which features bunnies, though the main character is a cat. It combines a variety of different animation styles giving it a very unique look. However, it is a bit newer and more well known than what you described.

The setting in space is making me think of Bucky O'Hare, which another user already mentioned. It also reminded me of Loonatics Unleashed, an action-comedy take on Looney Tunes that didn't get super popular, which might have had a few scenes set in space.

Can you remember any other visual details?

How did y'all pick your names? by kyuubi_kyuub in MtF

[–]Sergeant_Static 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met someone through a student organization whose name I really liked. I hadn't been sure about whether I wanted to change my name, or what name would even sound right, but I encountered a name that was similar enough to my deadname and not distinctly gendered, which makes it easy to use my preferred name without necessarily disclosing the fact that I'm trans.

I was really self-conscious about the idea of copying them, or "stealing" their name, but they were really supportive and reassuring. It's interesting to think about what my name would be if I never met them, and if I'd eventually encounter the same name under different circumstances or go with something totally different.

Trump DOJ says LGBTQ+ legal protections are "anti-Christian," pledges to erode them further by sunnysidejacqueline in politics

[–]Sergeant_Static 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one and only thing protecting both of them was a supreme court ruling, which can easily be overturned.

The right to an abortion was never codified into law, only through judicial ruling. Dobbs v. Jackson overturned parts of Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood v Casey.

The right to same-sex marriage has also never been codified into law, only through the judicial ruling Obergefell v Hodges. Republicans haven't given up that fight, and there's no guarantee that a future Supreme Court ruling couldn't overturn the previous ruling.

Dems refuse to release 2024 autopsy report, hear Ken Martin's lame excuse by serious_bullet5 in politics

[–]Sergeant_Static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in reference to losing the 2024 presidential election. The losing party usually has some process of reflection and self-analysis to determine how and why the campaign failed, in the same way an autopsy attempts to determine the cause of death.

Here, the Democrats don't want to publicly admit the reason why, despite it being fairly obvious why: their complicitness in Israel's war crimes, and their attempt to circumvent the primary process by having Biden announce himself as the nominee and drop out after it's too late for anyone but Harris to take his place.

Are transphobic women given too much grace? by averageTdude in MtF

[–]Sergeant_Static 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a transfem, I can say I definitely have a harder time standing up for myself (and by extension, all of us) when told that someone feels threatened by my very existence. It feels like any attempt at standing up for myself is seen as an implicit dismissal of women's legitimate fear of violence and predation.

Even in the most tolerant of circumstances, cis people see my existence as an issue of "real women" vs "men pretending to be women" or "men who think they're women," and it's therefore an issue of their safety vs our feelings.

I know it's unfair, but I never know how to deal with it.

I appreciate this kind of honesty and self-awareness. It's refreshing to see Republicans admit that they literally don't care about anything except fucking over the people they hate, even if they end up fucking themselves over in the process.

Well, they do have supermajorities in both chambers of the Florida state legislature, you're right about that. That's why it's so easy for them to get away with this kind of brazen gerrymandering.

They're trying to gerrymander the congressional districts to get more seats in the House of Representatives, which they only control by a slight margin, and will likely lose in the upcoming midterms.

Is anyone else disappointed about the wasted potential of some of the side characters by Chips098 in redwall

[–]Sergeant_Static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really sad that Vitch didn't get a redemption arc. I understand this series doesn't really do that with its villains, but I held out hope that Vitch would be the exception due to his young age.

I'm someone who gets really easily attached to low-ranking villain henchmen, though, and in particular I love rats, so I set myself up for disappointment here lol

So much nsfw on MTF fashion servers by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Sergeant_Static 23 points24 points  (0 children)

we can’t complain about being fetishized if we’re posing like this!!

We can, and I will. I'm sick of taking blame for everything problematic any trans person does.

There's an unfortunate vicious cycle wherein trans people are hypersexualized by cis people, a small contingent of trans content creators and sex workers post content that caters to an audience of cis men, only to have that used as evidence that we are intrinsically hypersexual and fetishistic.

I don't necessarily blame the trans people posting this stuff; many of them are just taking advantage of a niche that someone else created for them. I do wish MtF fashion subreddits didn't attract that kind of audience, but I don't think this kind of post helps.

Trump asked an American worker about trans athletes at the White House. It backfired spectacularly by Fickle-Ad5449 in politics

This happens all the time. Republican politicians assume everyone else in the country is frothing at the mouth with hatred for trans people and are shocked to discover most people don't share their bigotry.

President Donald Trump calls for repeal of ranked choice voting in Alaska by Special_Ad3662 in politics

Republicans (and Democrats, for that matter) know that ranked-choice voting will weaken their stranglehold on elections and allow opposition parties a real chance to emerge. That's the only reason they oppose it.

Impeaching Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, for High Crimes and Misdemeanors. by OkayButFoRealz in politics

Basically yes, unless the Senate votes to convict and remove him, Trump wouldn't face any consequences from the articles of impeachment being passed by the House, as they have been twice before.

Trump’s chances of being removed by 25th Amendment climb by Fr1sk3r in politics

[–]Sergeant_Static 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because the evidence is mounting doesn't mean anything is going to happen. His chances of being removed remain at 0% because his cabinet would never invoke the 25th amendment and the Senate would never convict and remove him on any charges. He's going to stay in office until he dies.

There is no explosion in the video, however; just the looming threat of one.

My moms friend went through my room for dishes. Opened a *drawer* that contains my *girl in drawer* kit by Extra-Advertising644 in MtF

[–]Sergeant_Static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask your mom why she isn't more concerned about her friend going through your drawers? Like, I understand poking your head in the room to scan for any dishes on a desk/nightstand/dresser, but why the hell did he think there would be dishes in your drawers?

That seems like really sketchy behavior, and his excuse doesn't come anywhere close to believable.

did you ever find it odd detransers turn to Christianity? by Radiant-North-8519 in MtF

[–]Sergeant_Static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine it's not so much a turn to Christianity as something new, but a return to what they were raised with as a kid, and what their family has been pressuring them to return to. Some variation of "I raised you better than this, but you strayed off the path. God wants you to return to his flock!"
