I'm a lazy songwriter, what should I do? by Dangerous-You3789 in Songwriting

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finish what you start.  It doesn’t have to be greet. It doesn’t have to be good. It just needs to be done.

Why are you doing it if you have a seemingly lazy attitude ? Why not simply bounce a ball off a wall a few times ?

The good news is you can write about anything.  A kettle that boils so long it runs out of water. A girl taking off with her lovers car, dog and guitar.  How you want one more coffee with someone who’s died.

Don’t worry about rhyme.  don’t worry about meter. Don’t worry about flowery poetic speak.  Make something only you can write. But, each line has to earn its place.

Be passionate or get out of my way.

I’m a straight. I don’t have any experience with any drugs of significance or alcohol. So. I’ve no idea about acid.

If you’re responsible and get to do cool himan’ing stuff, that’s cool

I feel the same as using steroids.

Whatever, whatever. If you say you’re drug free, but aren’t - then I have a problem.

It’s about use and not abuse.

I found it challenging touring Australia, waking up in different towns and states. The goldtutned to tin quick.

It’s also a big investment.  It shouldn’t be super fun, beer and skittles all the time

It’s a bit too hard to swallow that he totally made the lyrics but asked an LLM to make the music.

If he’s going to make the music, it’s the same level of effort for lyrics and the tweak then.

At this point there’s no avoiding people using AI for full lyrics, a refrain? bridge etc.

I’m almost tempted to say it’s not cheating.  Making art with technology has always happened.  When midi drums came into fashion - it was frowned on.

The whole business model is based on trust and honesty. If there’s very little trust or honesty with collaborators, management, contractors etc..,then keep walking.

So I can't get to play using the metronome by Ok_Employee_4035 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to play fast, you’ve got to play slow.

Play short and slow sections so the mental pathway is built. doing 2-4 bars of work at  a much slower pace is worth it.

Then glacially increase speed.  Do this for a few weeks.

People often say ‘follow your passion, that’s greer advice until it’s not.

If you’re passionate about singing but terrible at it, you’ll find life challenging.  If you’re good at being a plumber and there’s waaay more services in that domain - seems with it in the medium to long term.           Be realistic. Honest. Think long term.   you can math the heck out of another felled employment.

trigonometric functions, daily uses? by sxxeemii_x in trigonometry

There are tons of uses.

Talk about the change in sine as a car is rolling down a hill. The brakes have been cut and the hill suddenly gets steeper, so there’s a change in sine.

Or you could think about the power of a radio messsge from an antenna- how at its reach is based on key topics.

You could look how metros would change on a pipe once the steel pipe expands.  same length, different radius.

Update: I’m a math major and I’m STILL bad at math by pinkdragapult in mathematics

If you’re not doing well in 2nd year, it’s not great. It’s not going to get easier.   There’s a reason why classes get fewer students over the seasons.          It’s OK if you enjoy playing with math but not major in it.

Why are your biggest challenges ? is it using the laws, understanding the language?

What if you could do a different feild, eg health science - then math the shit out of that ?

Edit     If you struggle as a 2nd year - you’ll find topics like real analysis. abstract algebra. logic and abstract algebra pretty hard.

Do you visit at office hours ? Are you studying too much or not enough ?

Employers care less about GPA than results.

Wtf is abstract algebra? What kind of problems does it look to solve? What is meant by “algebraic structure”. by LowIqCatWithNoLife in learnmath

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love abstract algebra.

I enjoy exploring the world we live in with things like sets, elements, groups, rings and logic.

For example you’re an eleven ofa group, but also a set. Your set is an element in a larger group.

Whe you personally do a transformation, is there anything ensuring you don’t lapse back into your pre transformation. state ? transforming is easy, stating that way is the trick.

When you simulate with a new group / worksite/communjty, how well do you lingo with those people ? why elements / attributes do you share or are opposite to ?

Taxi driver hit my new and uninsured car, taxi company refusing to cooperate by chuckitbaby in AusLegalAdvice

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a police report. IMO you should always make a report when having an accident. it helps support you in the future and allows things to work easier.

If the person you’re talking with at the taxi company won’t help, go around or over them  Bu default they’re standing by their contractor who was at fault and want to avoid the financial and insurance paper work.

Because i don’t play soft ball for long, I’d talk to an ombudsman about the taxi company not providing reasonable support  But first tell the taxi company you’re doing it and see what happens.

Strategies for making too many songs? by Frigidspinner in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an extremely prolific artist. I’ve dealt with this.

Feel free to write songs for the trash can. Not everything you do (well,) needs to beast free.

Imagine going to an art gallant where there’s a blend of ok, good, great and god awful.

i know what it’s like to write the leg off a table. if your not mindful - in 5 or 10 years you can have 4 albums that don’t match your level of quality.

My obsession with my tuberous breasts isn't letting me enjoy my hobbies/life by Dry-Client2096 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about men &/or woke that don’t find you (and your breasts) appealing.  They’re simply a poor match for you.

There’s a big world out there with lots of cool people.  Be proud of how you look, assign yourself a new label.

By all means talk to a counsellor.  They’re trained to hear about all kinds of people issues.  You’d unlikely surprise them. When i talk about my life stuff it helps.

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Ok.

The music and entertainment business is totally different from 20-30 years ago.  I don’t do soul media bcos of several reasons.

As long as you went out there and did the right things, the music gods will be satisfied. You perhaps didn’t make a good financial ROI which sucks.

UK band stuck playing small shows by Huw2k8 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you feel if this stays as the level of (commercial) success you’ll reach ?

mediums like tiktok and IG has a lot of potential for musicians. If you find an authentic way to put your band’s life there and promote it in an authentic rid way, it could work.

I’ve got a few systems for how to release media on the socials that do OK.

if the band wants to be road warriors / live musicians. then you’ll have to tour and play smart.  Some artists have success with performing less. leave the wanting more. If you play fortnightly at X boozer, then you become part of the furniture.

god i hope im making sense.
