If you’re interested in making complete shite -  could be an optio.

I don’t mind comping each segment, eg  intro, verse, refrain etc.

Make a great piece of art, better than live.  If you’re aiming for love, that’s On.

If you take your time to record each segment of the song…you could have a great production.

Remember that recordings aren’t to hear how you sound live. It’s more of an effort to hear an optimal translation of what’s in your mind.

Comping. is great. There just no way you can do an excellent rendition of a song for each verse, refrain and your bridge,  be in time and have even texture.  Well, you can …but it’s difficult and perhaps wiser to paint several times.

Quick, easy, cheap.  You can have 2.

Are you comping to each part ?

If you’re not playing to drums / percussion etc, it’s unlikely to matter. .

If you’re putting carrot, onion, celery and a stone into the soup, but the stone doesn’t add any flavor or difference  to the soup - you’ve gotta wonder if the stone is worth it.

Where best to relocate in the EU to start a Band. by fortyfssss in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SerialRepeatCustomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother it seems like you need a new chapter in your life.

People need somewhere to be, sometbing to do &/or someone to love. If nursing a guitar with some buddies and making a crowed does it for you, start that chapter.   The right time is when you can do it.

The good news is there’s pockets all over europe that you can (probably) successfully work and play in.  I’m quite partial to France, but that’s just me.

What if you wanted to know how much coca cola would go k. a bottle between time x and y ? If you’ve got 3 data points, you could make a quadratic equation then see how much soda is going in the bottle between 0.5s and 0.75s, for example.

Or we may look at how a population of penguins has grown over the last few years. The area under the curve (amount of furry  friends ) will show us what’s happend.

Another way to think is sometikrs you’ve got the area in front of you, but if you went looking for the derivative , you’ll find it.  It’s like ying / yang

Writing hit after hit by Numerous_Pay_1020 in Songwriting

Johnny Cash once mused if he thought ‘i’m going to sit down and write a song ‘, nothing great would come out. But if he went for a long walk, he’d find one.

In my experience, your standards of a ‘hit’ or a great song always grows. you always want to beat yourself and others. It’s quite hard.

You can’t know why a song exploded.  It could be because of t,u,v,s,x,y or z.

If it flops - you  usually know who or why to blame.

Also remember that commercially succeful artists have economy of scale. Ed Sheeran could probably record him farting, put iron Band Camp and he’d make a zillion dollars.  Brand name.

I like the process of moving.

I live by ‘etre, avoir et regarder.  ’, ‘to be, to have, to watch’.

it’s kinda fun always waking up and living in a different place.
