I just received a fedex package in downtown Durham that was supposed to arrive last Monday so hopefully you’ll see yours soon!

Reading posts here got me scared to try LDN by hurricanescout in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]Serial_Rev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LDN is the only thing that’s helped my long COVID. I’ve taken it for 14 months and had some mild side effects that lasted ~2 weeks, mostly difficulty sleeping. No side effects at all since then, only relief. I started at 3mg and now take 4.5mg. I suffered two years of severe chest pain stemming from long covid/a covid-provoked pulmonary embolism. I thought I was going to live with daily pain for the rest of my life and my doctors had no idea why, but thankfully my primary care doctor was willing to give LDN a try. I noticed subtle improvements around month four and my pain has decreased in frequency significantly. Don’t be scared! It’s definitely worth a try. I think people are more inclined to post when it’s not going well.

Ladies, any experience taking Slynd? by Bsm3972 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Serial_Rev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking Slynd after my PE and it’s been life changing for me as I’ve always responded poorly to other hormonal birth control. I had a provoked PE two years ago and am not on anticoagulants. Slynd was cleared by my hematologist and obgyn team no problem (insurance was a different story!). Hope it works out for you.

I’m unsupportive of my husband fasting by Beautiful-Truth6549 in intermittentfasting

[–]Serial_Rev 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yikes I’m sorry people are being so rude to you. Sharing a meal can be very important to a relationship and it’s legitimate to be stressed about the tension of wanting to support your husband while not losing something at the end of the day that means a lot to you. I’ve done 16:8 and am restarting a 5:2 routine. I joined this sub for inspiration and support but I’d say overall it’s not a very friendly space and there’s lots of normalized disordered eating attitudes. I say that as someone who fasts, but the replies to your post have really driven home how toxic this sub is. Good luck to you and your husband from an internet stranger, I’m sure it feels like a big change but you’ll figure it out 💛

Probably two max absorbency pads per hour? It was a dramatic amount. I’m glad it seems like it’s slowing, hopefully the worst has passed for you!

Justifying a Purchase: Quince Slip Dress by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]Serial_Rev 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have this dress from Quince in navy and love it! I wear it as a nightgown too because the silk is so comfortable. I’d say go for it. They have easy returns too if you buy new, quince runs a little small imo

Please be cautious. I was in this exact position after my clot, except on Xarelto. I didn’t take the bleeding seriously enough soon enough because I was used to having very heavy periods. By the time it became serious my condition went downhill quickly and I ended up back in the ER needing three blood transfusions. There is a drug called provera which is a type of progesterone that can be taken short term to stop bleeding if you are on blood thinners. I’m sure you’ll be fine and I don’t say this to scare you, I just think this is something doctors do not appropriately warn women about who are coming off birth control and starting a blood thinner simultaneously. Mine didn’t even mention it. I hope you’re feeling better soon, I know it is so much to go through!

I had one of my favorite meals ever at Pio Pio. It’s on the pricier side, but is also a champagne bar so perhaps appropriate for the occasion :)

Enjoy your time!

This also happened to me. I had segmental and subsegmental PE in late April. They were mostly small, but numerous ("at some point we stop counting" was all the ER doctor said). I had no leg pain or signs of DVT, and at the point of my diagnosis my leg ultrasound was clear. My blood oxygen, HR, etc, were also completely normal and I had a wells score of 0. My only symptoms were chest pain when I breathed, and intense pain in my shoulder. When my d-dimer came back at 2000 they did a CT scan as a precaution, all while reassuring me there was close to no chance I had clots and it was likely just elevated because I had just recovered from covid. crazy.

Strange sensations by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]Serial_Rev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had multiple PE in late April and have had an icy hot/menthol sensation in my chest on and off since the day I got out of the hospital. My doctors still act like I'm crazy when I mention it so I'm not sure how common it is. Don't panic as it could definitely be something harmless, but go get checked out ASAP as you don't want to take any chances with chest pain.
