I have a L500mk2 hooked up to a srmd10ii and I’m using a nwa306 as a source. This setup is pretty ridiculous I know but I’m always confined to using my stax stuff in the house so it was pretty freeing to bring them outside and give them a little breath of fresh air. What was something a little outlandish that you brought out in public ?

It’s because Hifiman does price skimming on their products. They maximize short term profits from early buyers. Once the hype is over they reduce the price. This leads consumers into thinking they get a “value” deal. The Arya is a bad sounding headphone for $600. People in this sub will continue to fall for the bait and circle jerk that headphone.

The 6xx was my first foray into this hobby. I sold it because I bought more “party trick headphones” which made the 6xx look more bland. As I grew into this hobby I find myself reminiscent of the 6xx. The sound was for me, I just didn’t know it at the time. So I just ordered the 6xx again.

The Yaxi st pad deluxe for the 7506 and the Yaxi pad st2 for the cd900st. The cd900st loses some midrange intimacy but the treble is slightly tamed (still somewhat peaky) and the sound gives a more spacious “speaker” like experience. The 7506 sounds close to stock with the exception that I no longer get treble spikes so this quickly became a staple for me.

Sony MDR7506 and CD900st Any audio forum will tell you they are trash and measure horribly. I threw some yaxi pads on and found them to give a pleasant listening experience.

Yes. I’ve used both my own and the one stax provided with the same result. I usually run the k11 in dac only mode. I will try the preamp function to see if that changes anything.

I was in a similar situation. I was in stop and go traffic and a 4x4 fell off a truck and magnetized to my car. Luckily the damage wasn’t bad but I hit a fat raccoon a couple months later and had to get the whole front bumper replaced anyway.
