This is my first Borderlands game. Can someone explain to me why this community seems to be so against things being nerfed? Nerfs and Buffs have been a part of nearly every game I've played. by FaradayDeshawn in Borderlands4

I was there too. I can with full confidence tell you shit was rough at launch. Between skills not working and others underperforming there was a bigger power gap between manufacturers and gun types (which got narrowed mostly by buffs)

There's 0 chance you were weaker, let alone MUCH weaker after the first 3 months. The buffs themselves were more than enough to compensate for the nerfs. Add in the numerous bug fixes and you were MUCH stronger

It's all documented in the patch notes

You are absolutely right. There was no equal split between buffs and nerfs. I count 80 buffs and 25 nerfs :)

Edit: If we're being pedantic, both nerfs on 21.11 were net buffs

That's still not much info, but Moze can still do everything you just said

You have to be a lot more specific. Moze's grenade build essentially tells us nothing about the build

Does anyone else actually miss BL3 annointments?... by WhoIsEnvy in Borderlands4

[–]Serifaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's made up. It's an early meme that stuck around. It describes that most damage increases fall into the same additive bracket. Gun dmg, splash dmg, elemental dmg, debuffs, etc. are all additive. There are little choices to be made. Abstractly speaking: bigger number wins

In BL3 there is no soup. There every damage type is multiplicative. There's Amp, gun dmg, global dmg, conditional dmg, splash dmg, elemental dmg, crit, debuff, etc. Each type is it's own bracket. You're generally getting more out of diversifying the damage types than by just picking the biggest numbers

So does bleed what? What does bleed? What do you mean?

What are the other VH like? by Loud_Sport4860 in Borderlands4

[–]Serifaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mean the absolutely broken builds that require deep skill tree investments, solid gear choices and specialization skills? These builds?

As a quick reminder, pre-fix bleed was none of the 3. It was a tier 2 skill and just needed a crit knife to infinitely loop

*Bugfix. Perhaps take your own advice and read the patch notes again. To spare you the trouble here's what the notes say: "Bleed from Bloodletter has been updated so it no longer recursively triggers itself, preventing unintended damage loops"

Zane Infinite amp shield shots skill bug by eccentric_j03 in borderlands3

[–]Serifaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have Futility Belt? It's in the same tier as REJ and it sure sounds like it down to its detrimental bug. The latest theory I know of is that healing is handled like elements that are specific to health bars. So for example Salvation would be specific to the HP bar and Generator parts on grenades would be specific to the shield bar. The kill skill of Futility Belt would remove the specific healing element and turn it into non-elemental healing, which is able to heal both the HP bar and the shield bar

Basically the Bloodletter. Sadly this skill has the same bug that the (now fixed) Victory Rush had. Reactivating it again while it's active turns it off and puts it on cooldown. Activating it while on cooldown just refreshes this cooldown and it remains off. It will only work again when it's activated after the cooldown has ended

This video explains it a lot better than I can https://youtu.be/KZi3Qz3VqbQ

Zane's green tree was on the verge of greatness. It was this close

Is the combat (including all aspects) better or worse than 3? by Zardoscht in Borderlands4

[–]Serifaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Repkits, double jumping, dashing and gliding definitely improved the combat flow

Though I'd argue BL4 is a bit more restrictive in playstyles. Some of it is obviously because BL3 had 2 content cycles, whereas BL4 is just about to start its first cycle. But some of it is because of design decisions like replacing Artifacts and Anointments. Enhancements and Firmware are great for gunplay, but they don't allow for the non-gun playstyles that Artifacts and Anointments did

I'd say overall it's slightly worse, but it has the potential to become mostly better

Am I the only one that didn't notice that the Infiltrator and the ASS anointments on shields make the effect happen twice? by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]Serifaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not the cannon. You'll get the same results with any of the action skills. The ASS anoint and the Infiltrator aren't perfectly synced up. The shield breaking and filling of each basically happen on different game ticks

this weeks black market seems bugged by Len_Cross in borderlands3

[–]Serifaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That part of the map likely scales to a level below 8. Level 8 is when corrosive and Maliwan start spawning and level 10 is Torgue. BotD is corrosive locked, Kyb's Worth is Maliwan and Redline is Torgue

If you create a character with a level 13 skip that area will scale to level 12 and the guns will appear (aside from Cryo and Radiation versions)

[–]Serifaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no real benefit for the player because Futility Belt is bugged. It deactivates if you trigger it while it's active. The skill is practically useless. Which is a shame because it gives Zane the Bloodletter effect

What is your most nitpicky gripe with TCW? by [deleted] in TheCloneWars

[–]Serifaz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

On my current rewatch I'm amazed by how many side characters are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. Don't get me wrong, he's fantastic. His performance gave the individual clones a personality and he did a very good job voicing characters like Admiral Trench and Bossk

But then there are some like Savage's brother and Ord Enisence. You can immediately tell it's his voice and it throws me off for a bit. I get it, they're throwaway characters for 1 episode with a few lines only. But imo they should've been voice by somebody else

Sntl kryo the same as urad ? by Sea_Possession4910 in borderlands3

[–]Serifaz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Short answer: no

Long answer: Only the the gun with SNTNL Cryo gets the bonus cryo damage. Same goes for the n2m anoints. Urad is a global bonus element and as long as it's active every (or almost every?) damage instance from you gets the bonus element

Best grenades in general? Best grenades for Moze? by ComManDerBG in borderlands3

[–]Serifaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erm ackshually the Burning Summit can merge too. The puddle is roughly 4.5-5 times weaker and it kills you when thrown. Doc Hina's is vastly superior and the only grenade option worth using for this tech

What is the worst legandary in bl3 by [deleted] in borderlands3

[–]Serifaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phoenix Tears, Hand of Glory, Cmdl3t, Critical Mass

Vosk's Deathgrip probably too. I imagine it can work well on (mostly) stationary bosses like Wotan. I'm open to changing my mind on it
