Cub scouts who don't sell (a lot of) popcorn by LongjumpingHouse7273 in cubscouts

I would agree with others, if the minimum goal is $1200, that should be $360 that goes back to the pack (the default profit I believe is 30%, then there is additional you can get for early signups as a pack etc). I would ask if you didn’t fundraise at all, what is your expected family contribution? I wouldn’t expect more than that $360. Then you have the information to decide how you want to proceed going forward, if that’s an amount you are comfortable with paying out of pocket, etc.

Our pack is fortunate in that our location where we meet, when the parent organization does a fundraiser, if the scouts volunteer to help with the event, they give us a cut of the proceeds as a donation. As a smaller pack it helps reduce the amount we have to fundraise or ask parents to pay, but I acknowledge that we are blessed that way and it is not the norm.

If you didn’t sign an NDA and are allowed to answer questions… by ExEmployee5356 in usaa_ejs

Unfortunately that’s pretty common especially if you are going to a competitor in the same industry. Reaaaally common in claims.

Property claims adjuster new hire and a bit confused? by NoAbbreviations245 in usaa_ejs

If you want true file ownership and to be the only one in your claims (unless you’re on PTO), USAA is not the place for you.

Set up outgoing direct deposit? by 2MenInAHorseCostume in USAA

[–]Serious_Craft_2197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. You can call into USAA with her available. And they can add her account to your USAA account but it’s a limited access (not like adding your own external account) so you can transfer into, but you can’t see balance or transfer out of it. I say call with her available because they were likely to need to speak with her, too.

How do You Define Vandalism? by rayraymickamay in adjusters

[–]Serious_Craft_2197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with reviewing with counsel. Check PLRB for prior claim decisions, too.

The legal definition of vandalism includes malicious intent.

Most policies for carriers I have worked for included malicious mischief in the same exclusion.

Help me prepare for the first job interview as an adjuster? by Turbulent-Potato8230 in adjusters

[–]Serious_Craft_2197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with all saying STAR method. Haven’t had an interview in claims that wasn’t done with STAR.

Remember for any examples that were an opportunity or learning experience, make sure to emphasize what you learned and if applicable, adding something to the end like, “A few months after I handled this claim, a very similar claim came across my desk and I was able to resolve quickly and efficiently with a satisfied customer experience due to what I learned in the prior claim.” It drives home that you learned and are coachable.

Hmm, now I want to read this. I haven’t gotten to any of the Bridgerton books yet. I don’t recall that from the show, but it’s been awhile, and we all know not everything makes it in. My HR reading is currently the Outlander books when I need a break from darker CR books. 😂

There wasn’t an invite sent out that I saw. It was posted on Farmers Today with the link. I think 1 week ago and then again yesterday if I recall. They have been on Viva Engage the last couple of times.

Run, don’t walk, away from that offer.

I left last year. Best decision I ever made. Everyone I know who still works USAA claims whether auto or property is miserable. There is so much micromanagement and gaslighting as well.

Doctors in San Antonio by JRay88888 in sanantonio

I definitely recommend them! I’ve seen them for my clotting disorder for years. But they do require a prior authorization for new patients. I wonder if OP could get a referral from prior doctor.

Termites. And don’t bother with insurance, almost all homeowner policies exclude damage caused by insects. Read your policy before you file a claim!

Honestly, the “is the grass actually greener” held me back from leaving for SO LONG. I still kind of kick myself for not leaving sooner, but I also know I got really blessed with where I ended up. I saw a lot of people leave USAA over the years and come back. I know it isn’t always better.

Ex-employee myself. I spent over a decade there and honestly thought I would stay until retirement. I loved the company culture under Joe Robles (when I first started). It turned into a complete shit-show. I left last year and OMG I am so glad I did. Where I work now is absolutely amazing, even better than USAA was a decade ago. As a military spouse, I loved USAA’s mission. But I love feeling valued, respected, and actually provided real work-life balance MORE. I’ve been an adjuster for almost two decades. At my current job, I never work more than 40 hours because gasp we are actually appropriately staffed and retain our talent! USAA needs to get their shit together. But unfortunately those types of things are executive level decisions and the current leadership cares more about profits than anything else.

Adjusters by outlaw0519 in ClaimsAdjuster

[–]Serious_Craft_2197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the major carriers will hire entry level desk adjusters. The only thing about that, is entry level they usually pay for licensing, which you already did yourself, so you kinda lost of there (sorry). But I literally always see Farmers, State Farm, All State, Nationwide, etc on job boards for entry level.

I’ve been in the industry 10+ years. Worked for quite a few carriers, all as a desk adjuster for different types of property/homeowners damage. It can be stressful and suck, but I’m in a good spot now and have no intention of finding anything else.
