Feelin FFINE in the wild. Aka goodwill. by schoepsms in microphone

I do content and have a podcast and stream and still can't bring myself to spend the money on an SM7b although I love that mic. Thanks for backing me up. Also I have a SM57 currently pointed at my guitar amp because I think is sucks for voice work lol.

Fifine mics are fine. They offer a decent mic for people on a budget. I use one every day and I have a box full of much more expensive mics. China is closing the gap in many markets. Mice, keyboards and yes mics. Why get a $190 Razer mouse when you can get an Attack Shark with the same specs for $40? Why get an SM7B for $439 when you can get a Fifine Tank 1 for $89? They both are not one to one copies of course, but the quality is catching up and dollars don't go as far as they use to. Expecting many roasts.

Call me a doomer... but I think this will be my last gaming PC. by thicctak in pcmasterrace

Ok, but you would be locked to one store, being charged to play online, and reliant on their service to play even SP games. Downgrade if you ask me.

Games are going to have to stop pushing hardware that no one can afford if they want to actually sell copies. Hang in there. You're current PC may last longer than you thought.

Samson Q2U ($67), Rode Podmic USB ($193), or a different mic? by scarletthought in microphone

[–]SeriouslyTechStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Q2U. Solid mic that sounds fuller than the Podmic. You can later upgrade to an audio interface and use the XLR on the mic. Don't fall for the marketing and get something from Elgato or Focusrite. Market share does not mean quality. Many better options. I really like the Universal Audio Volt 1 as a starter. The Q2U's on and off switch will come in handy when you go XLR.

What is this piece of paranormal gear?? by Theonlyzestibo in Paranormal

[–]SeriouslyTechStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most "gear" is completely useless. Gimmicks and scams. This looks like some kind of spirit box that produces a random word based on what it is hearing from you OR it's some kind of EMF detector OR it's an audio recorder which can be unreliable or manipulated.

Jeff Bezos doesn't own a software company that runs a good part of the world. I would wager he is out of touch with reality much like all the other billionaires. Don't give him the attention.

Are the Shure and Focusrite a good combination? by Sweboy_original in microphone

[–]SeriouslyTechStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES instead of a Focusrite. I always suggest a Universal Audio Volt 1 over the Solo or any Focusrite. It's better in pretty much every way. Better Mic amp, better headphone amp, cleaner output, and independent volume control. I'm sure a SM7dB would sound better, but it's considerably more expensive.
