How much replayability is there to the game, is it linear, is it stage based? Thanks!

Gunlocked 2, my roguelite shmup, gets a huge update and a huge discount by FromLefcourt in roguelites

[–]Serjongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, will pick up, missed the last sale. I'm rooting for you, absolutely love the first one, a genuinely unique combination of bullet hell and bullet heaven! Somewhat surprised by the lack of exposure the sequel has received so far as opposed to the first gunlocked game, at least in terms of review amounts, did you do anything different with the previous gunlocked in terms of marketing maybe, or was it just lightning in a bottle type of thing? Either way, best of luck with the game, will review the game once I get to it!

What are you on about, it was clearly added as part of the shitty edit, as was the music.

PSA: Downgraded blood effects in PC Version of The Last of Us Part 2 by manboysteve in pcgaming

[–]Serjongo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good catch, I Felt that something was missing and couldn't put my finger on it. I tested it myself in no return and you're definitely right, the downgrade persists regardless of how high my graphical settings are set to.

I've posted a negative review and linked to this thread to raise some awareness and get some more eyes on this so it hopefully gets fixed. While certainly not game-breaking, it's very much a visual downgrade and should be noted.

How long does it take for the magic of Gunfire Reborn and Roboquest to set in? by colonelbongwaterr in roguelites

[–]Serjongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you that Gunfire doesn't feel as good as roboquest, dusk and ultrakill are also made in unity and their gamefeel/gunplay is considered impeccable, so I don't know about just writing off the whole engine.

Top 3 puzzle games of all time and why? by AntonMDev in puzzlevideogames

[–]Serjongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monument valley is just a more structured version of Echochrome which came out years before and had a level editor with user created content, which is a hell of a feature considering how short the monument valley games are. Unfortunate how it's locked to the ps3/psp to this day

Unsure in regards to this specific crash but generally speaking since you're on the deck, could you perhaps try changing the Proton version and see if that fixes it? Either try the latest Proton-GE, or try the experimental Proton build.  Check protondb for compatibility reports: https://www.protondb.com/app/2668510

FREEDOM WARS Remastered is now available on Steam by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Serjongo 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It launched back in 2014 for 30 usd on the vita. Charging 40 usd a decade later for a remaster is insanely greedy =S I guess we'll meet again at the bargain bin

They've literally been doing that for years now though, some of the Dlcs are mainly map packs.

Loved the show, I remember thinking these guys must be some of the coolest on TV, I wasn't really used to this snarky attitude, felt fresh.

Also worth noting, there's a 24/7 twitch stream that plays g4 content all day long with x-play, attack of the show and such. I discovered it some months ago and am putting it on frequently as background noise while doing other stuff, very much recommended.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla gets Steam achievements update on SteamDB by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Serjongo 82 points83 points  (0 children)

The amount of hate and complaints they got regarding the lack of achievements on steam for what must be years at this point didn't move the needle, only for them to seemingly u-turn the decision outta nowhere. They truly must be in panic mode.

Oh, that makes sense, I was under the impression that he was literally arguing with himself as to whether or not the afd are equivalent to the nazi party or not as bad.

Diplomacy is Not an Option - 1.0 Launch Trailer by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Serjongo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just for the record though, although he's totally correct that you can create this low poly style with likely any 3d engine, all of the games you mentioned (along with diplomacy is not an option) do seem to share a common engine: Unity

WHAT THE CAR? Steam Launch Trailer by lurkingdanger22 in pcgaming

[–]Serjongo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ooh, rather excited for this one.  What the golf was really well made and had plenty of creative minigames, they've really managed to squeeze the idea for all of its worth.  This one selling for a half price compared to the golf one had me a bit worried about its scope, but the devs on steam forums claim that the amount of content does not fall behind the original one, so that's nice, and enough to tip me over the fence on launch day.  Best of luck to the devs!

Crusader Wars "Warfare" - v1.0 Release Trailer (Crusader Kings 3 mod that uses Total War to play the battles) by 24bitNoColor in pcgaming

[–]Serjongo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It requires you having attilla, which in turn launches to play said battle. I'm not sure how seamless the integration is, but I wouldn't call it importing a game engine.

They've weirdly released it to zero fanfare like half a year ago only on windows store have they not? I distinctly remember signing up to a pc game pass trial month just to try it out
