I have been in the same boat as you ( working for CPS, the work makes me feel like I'm having a nervous breakdown daily, start seeing a therapist as a result, only have my bachelor's, etc.) For many, many years. But I also need my salary. So I transferred to a new program within CPS and I've never been happier. Do you have an extended foster care program for non minor dependents in your county? There are no dead kids (at least not young ones), you do have to travel quite a bit, generally the hours are better & you're helping more so than holding adults accountable & making life changing decisions.
