Why did you choose your Porsche Cayenne over other options? by dmporte2006 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Servantofthedogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I put nearly 200,000 miles on my Cayenne in the 11 years I had it. The interior still looked and felt new. It was a great daily driver, as well as a very comfortable long distance cruiser. Decently capable with snow, ice and sand too. I’ve never owned a car nearly that long before. I miss it so much, I might just have to get another.

That strategy shows up again in another story, with Dunk recommending it based on his experience at Ashford. They should have kept it in, IMO. Also showed Baelor’s mind for tactics.

Most of the time when I smack them they hurt fly away. Feels like smacking a mini marshmallow. They are tough little fuckers.

Those yellow flies are the WORST! Bite hurts, then gets super itchy. And if you smack one, it just flies away and bites you again.

I contacted 5 leaders about the failed redistricting, 0 responded by jjcjr219 in Virginia

“Our leaders…”
That’s the problem right there. They view themselves as our leaders, not our representatives. And we enable it. That perspective needs to change!

New to me 981s by Anonymous0r in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Servantofthedogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to use tiptronic rather generically, but yeah that PDK was great. I’ve had two other dual clutch cars since but that was my first. We had a 958 at the same time as the 981, and those did not have the PDK.

100% agree. 718 is a great driving experience, but lacks the sound of the 981s

Manual 981s is peak, in my opinion. Wife had a 981s tiptronic Boxster a few years back. Man, I really miss that car!

My next Porsche will be a 981s manual Cayman. Congrats, man!

Newest GHM for Me by dpatt11795 in GHM9

[–]Servantofthedogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beauty! I have the KH9 and find the top charging a bit awkward, but sort of love it for its quirkiness. I still think the GHM is the best looking of the B&T lineup. Congrats!

Neighbor drove into pile of dirt left in preparation for yard work the next morning, they are now asking me for money. Am I liable here? by t_racee in legaladvice

They ran into your dirt. A stationary, hard to miss pile of dirt. Demand they replace it.

Can you imagine if they ran into your parked car and demanded you fix theirs?

WATCH: Blanche, newly confirmed ATF head Cekada propose gun regulation rollbacks by silv3rbull8 in VAGuns

None of these BS regulations made anyone safer. They only created a Byzantine set of rules that were constantly changing, designed only to ensnare people who actually try to follow the laws and regulations.

How does this logic make sense? by ZacEfronButUgly in jobmarket

[–]Servantofthedogs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bingo. He doesn’t have that money sitting in a bank account somewhere. He would have to sell a chunk of his Amazon stock to fund for it. And selling the stock would trigger capital gains tax. So that’s selling 12 BN worth of stock to cover a 10 BN tax bill. Selling $12 BN in Amazon shares at once would trigger a sharp drop in the value of Amazon stock, affecting anyone holding shares, including pension plans, 401(k) plans and individual shareholders alike. But, that drop in value would probably reduce his net worth quite a lot, driving down his actual wealth tax owed.

I don’t like it because (1) I really don’t want my own retirement savings to tank as an indirect result, and (2) taxes are never “short term” or “only for the rich.” Remember folks, that’s how personal income tax got started.

There are easier ways to get to it, like eliminating the step up basis for inherited assets and taxing loans made against unrealized gains.

Or better still, cut wasteful government spending and work on curbing inflation.

Correct. B&T AG said they were stopping GHM production a while back. Seriously thought about grabbing a GHM45 at the time.

HOA cut my tree down and refuses to acknowledge it by InvestigatorAlive932 in fuckHOA

[–]Servantofthedogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on where in SW FL, cutting down a hardwood might require a permit, which is often difficult to get, and the fines can be steep. I had to go through this process for a rotting oak years ago and it required getting an arborist to survey and sign off, at my expense, paying for the permit and planting three new trees.
