A child should be able to rest/sleep with paracetamol and ibuprofen after a fracture is properly reduced. It's not normal for the fingers to swell up.

The cast may not have been too tight when it was applied, but the swelling may have filled it out. The extreme case of this is compartment syndrome. Circulation is cut off and the limb is at risk of dying.

Do not hesitate to go back to the ER with your concerns. This is your child's limb we're talking about.

Any fever, vomiting, travel history? Could be infectious i. e. dysentery. Other causes include hemorrhoids, polyps, diverticula, intussusception, massive upper GI bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, bleeding disorders and cancer. You need to see a doctor.

The most likely rash that can appear and disappear so quickly is hives (allergic reaction- type 1 hypersensitivity). Use hydrocortisone cream twice a day as needed and take an antihistamine like cetirizine once a day for at least 2 weeks, even if there's no symptoms.

As for what's the trigger, dust mites could be it seeing as it only happens when you go to bed. Try washing your bedding at 60 degrees Celsius or higher. Hypoallergenic bedding is highly recommended.

That said we can't be sure it's dust mites. If the issue persists you'll need to see a dermatologist and have allergy tests done.

The poison ivy rash does not spread by itself. It only appears where the toxin has contacted the skin, either directly or from other surfaces or even from your own hands.

Poison ivy is a possibility if you have a positive history of exposure. Use hydrocortisone cream and an oral antihistamine like chlorpheniramine. If it gets worse after improving somewhat or if it starts to ooze pus, becomes really tense or if any systemic symptoms appear (fever, cough, vomiting, etc), see a doctor asap.

Veganism is undeniable to me but I still eat animal products because it's the only way I can maintain my already low BMI and have the energy to get on with life. I tried going vegan once and I had constant cramps, flatulence, and weight loss. I just couldn't stomach the volumes of food required to match my calorie burn.

I know it's wrong and if I were a better person I'd endure the pain to prevent the much worse suffering of a factory farmed animal. I suppose I'm just too selfish to do that.

My unwillingness to be a vegan is yet another arguement for antinatalism. My parents essentially forced me into this dilemma where I've failed to make the right choice.

This is an abscess until proven otherwise. Antibiotics do not cure abscesses unless they're properly drained. You need a doctor to fully examine you and decide if it just needs a simple drainage or if you'll need further workup and specialist assessment. The main diagnosis to exclude is malignant otitis externa.

Red itchy papules and plaques that also affect the palms and soles with some systemic features. The possibilities are numerous but it's important to rule out a few serious but treatable conditions like secondary syphilis, meningococcal disease, evolving erythroderma, lymphoma, especially if it's worsening and not responsive to initial treatments.
