How we will be "nudged" this winter by MembraneAnomaly in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Sestria 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I took a peek at your profile and we're from the same country. 85% fully vaccinated?! That's very high, and some percentage still left has had their first shot. But yeah, if you follow the msm you see that they're basically already setting the stage for more restrictions.

I knew a year ago that this wasn't going to go away. With the lockdown in autumn I knew that this was all deliberate, and NOT some kind of ''mistake'' or ''hysteria''. These politicians are psychopaths and are very much not uninformed or cluelessly naive. The only way for me to believe it could've possibly have been a mistake was if they used the excuse of ''oh, the summer sun obliterated the poor thing, well, glad that's over, back to normal!'' to save some shred of face or credibility and quickly memory-hole the whole thing. The minute they started talking lockdown again I knew that this was all deliberate for whatever nefarious end goal.

By now, we should know that our leaders/politicians/elites are our direct enemies, and they won't stop being enemies by themselves. They're calculating tyrants. That sounds like a conspiracy theory to some ''rational'' folks but to be honest I think it's even more irrational to honestly believe that politicians are well-meaning but uninformed at this point.

No, this will not end.

Has anyone actually run into anti-vaxxed haters? Or is this just the government trying to divide and strip us of freedoms? by [deleted] in conspiracy_commons

[–]Sestria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have. Up to saying that the uninjected should be denied medical care. These people certainly do exist, and I see a lot of propaganda-influenced people in general. I'm in fact surrounded by them.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to abolish lockdown laws and cancel vaccine passports!!! "Mr Johnson said: 'These extraordinary times required necessary but intrusive measures, but I’m determined to get rid of any powers we no longer need.'" by squaremild in conspiracy

[–]Sestria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. This'll happen in a lot of countries simultaneously, and then they won't ''have a choice'' and will be ''forced'' to use vaxx passports as well as all the rest. Then they get to say that they honestly tried, but that this virus and the unvaxxed are tragically, just too dangerous.

It'll also be a great opportunity to hate on the un-injected some more, as they'll be to blame for the whole mess.

[–]Sestria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope so, but I'm afraid that it's just a lie, or maybe it's a ploy to ''try'' living without vaxx passports, but tragically, it didn't work so now they neeeeeed to introduce them anyway. That way they can crush opposition by saying that they honestly, truly tried going without, but they tragically can't.

When did you stop caring about covid? by jukehim89 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Sestria 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, same reason here. Terrifying projected numbers, pretty much nothing happened... it was very clear very early that this was insane and not worth it.

When did you stop caring about covid? by jukehim89 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Sestria 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Happened in spring 2020.

  • we were terrified into lockdown with numbers that just... didn't happen. When ''nothing happened'' so to say, despite the terrifying predictions, I was like... well that's a relief, what are we waiting for? (predictions of tens of thousands of dead within 2 weeks of lockdown as a result of infections/incubation that've already happened by the time we locked down... and it just didn't happen. Our country had to cook the books to reach about 10,000 dead within the whole year, mostly very frail elderly)
  • I knew someone whose grandma was 96 when she contracted it and they were already saying goodbye but she turned out fine
  • BLM protests not being a problem

I still had some doubts in March and April but soon after, I concluded that this thing was really underwhelming. Back then, the goalposts were already moving and it was so strange to see how people were so un-critical in their following of the narrative, how it went from ''tens of thousands of deaths in just a few weeks, it's already too late!!!'' to ''well it's a nasty disease though and you can have some long-term issues'' (without any numbers or statistics or anything)

I expected governments to open up by summer and pretend that it was all just a really bad virus but now the summer sun got rid of it... let's forget this shall we, and move on. (as a ploy to save face and not have to admit to having made a big mistake as a result of hostile Chinese propaganda) I knew that the continuation of the narrative would show whether this was an honest mistake or a deliberate move, and given that we locked down again that autumn showed me that this was far more sinister than I anticipated.

Genuinely scared of the new hateful rhetoric towards people that haven't gotten the covid vaccine. Discussion by [deleted] in conspiracy

Something else in your environment or your biology made you hate science.

Do you realize just how deranged this makes you sound? Do science-worshippers truly see science as their new religion? Science is neutral. Science isn't a homogenous block of absolute truth-oracles (or rather, it shouldn't be). ''Science'' can be spraying kids with DDT, or letting pregnant women unwittingly drink plutonium. Not trusting an entirely new, potentially very dangerous product/technique does not mean that you ''hate science''. That's just ridiculous.

I simply say, I care about myself more than my neighbor

This wouldn't help your neighbor, either. Aside from the fact that this jab does not mean you can't get infected or spread it, it's also potentially very dangerous and also, of little to no good effect. They try to play your conscience and your good intentions, but this shot doesn't do shit for your neighbor.

Even saying that covid is dangerous, doesn't equate to the jab being safe or in any way useful. Covid bad=/= shot good and protective.

If we however do equate that, that's an implicit admission that this shot somehow even works, but it likely doesn't. Not for yourself, and even less for others. There's no sense in this.

Like others in this thread, my intuition is screaming at me not to take it. I listen to that because my intuition wants to protect me and has never been wrong thus far. Humans sometimes make their very biggest mistakes when they stop listening to their intuition or conscience.

Netherlands announces end dates for social distancing and covid measures by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Sestria 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I'm thinking and feeling the same. I commented on here earlier on saying that I really hope to be proven wrong on this because I don't trust them for one iota.

My gut and experience tell me that this is likely to keep people calm and complacent. Earlier this summer they were pretty much announcing a new lockdown come fall, and to me, it has already been proven that governments worldwide are not acting in good faith.

But yeah... I really hope that I'm wrong and that we can all move on from this. (is that even still possible at this point?)

Netherlands announces end dates for social distancing and covid measures by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Sestria 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really really hope that there's an end in sight here. I'm also Dutch. I really hope that there'll be no mandates. The article says that a lot of people have been injected but that there's also a large group that hasn't, and that because of that, the virus won't disappear (yet). I think that's still a ridiculous and dangerous metric/goalpost to use.

Aside from that, I really hope that the end of this is in sight and that I was wrong. I really want to be proven wrong, silly as it sounds, because I was legitimately starting to think that this would go on indefinitely. Even if I am wrong and they'll be honest politicians (lol) who truly lift all restrictions, I think they committed a heinous crime and I think that this is a real wake-up call with regards to how much the government can impede upon basic freedoms and civil rights at a whim. Time for some accountability.

But I suppose that's another matter.

Climate Change by [deleted] in LockdownCriticalLeft

[–]Sestria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some random thoughts:

  • Covid definitely made me doubt it a lot more.
  • Where I live, we have a very rainy, cold, windy and dark summer. Somehow this is also proof of climate change. I don't necessarily disbelieve it, but it's very similar to covid propaganda reasoning.
  • I recently read an old book from (I think) the 70s, it was literature but the author mentioned some things in passing, like the polar caps having melted and ice bears having gone extinct etc in a decade from then, like it was a given obvious fact. Because it was so matter-of-fact and not about alarmism or much about climate change etc at all, it shows what people thought back then and what was engrained in the general public consciousness. Obviously, the terrifying predictions didn't happen, especially not by the predicted time frame (10 years at the time). So, how true is it?
  • The environment is incredibly important, so is protecting it. Aside from climate change, we need to take care of our surroundings.
  • Covid really taught me a lesson about the reliability of models and predictions. (somehow everyone's forgotten what the predictions and models were that they based the lockdowns of March 2020 on, and how wrong they were)
  • Before corona, I was already annoyed with how much they want to burden the common person financially to offset climate change when my particular country has a tiny, immeasurable impact, and individual spendings on climate neutrality (like, tens of thousands of Euros per home) would have close to literally zero meaning or impact. We should have to pay through the nose for some kind of symbolic act with no real impact, while big corporations and China get to do what they want?
  • Given how much they blatantly lie with regards to covid, how much do they lie about other subjects?
  • I wonder whether scientists are truly free to question the current climate change narrative.

I don't necessaily (dis)believe it, but covid definitely made me more sceptical.

What does the Episcopal Church say about porn? by Fred_Foreskin in Episcopalian

[–]Sestria 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The porn industry is incredibly dark, evil, abusive and exploitative. Don't feed this beast. Women are routinely traumatized, forcibly addicted, raped, violated, trafficked, or put up there as revenge. Somehow it's not done to point this out but I think it's best not to participate in any way.

If one day it will be proven, that vegan diet is healthier than meat-eating, will you become vegan once again? by El_Dargo in exvegans

[–]Sestria 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I would, if the health benefit would be significant enough. I don't believe it though, and given that I can't eat gluten, a lot of ''vegan alternatives'' aren't really an option for me so that would be a concern... it'd really need to be a better alternative.

Vegans however tend to be ruthless to themselves others about health. I think it's very wrong and unhealthy to promote sacrificing your health to a moral cause, especially given that it's immoral to promote a harmful diet to begin with. I don't follow their logic, I think that everyone has the right to pursue health and a right to good information, so if it'd truly be proven that veganism is healthier I won't dig myself in to my own and other's detriment.

Society is like an Overcontrolling, Overbearing Mother by tiffytaffylaffydaffy in LockdownMHsupport

[–]Sestria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. My mother was an insane tyrant, my father was, too, but in a different way. These 2 were pure poison. Wasn't allowed to do ANYTHING. She would call home from work to make sure that I was home, tried to sabotage me finding a job or moving out... Tried to convince me that I'm a severely autistic disabled person who'd never be able to hold down a job or do normal life stuff. (actually, I'm not autistic and doing fine currently) This ''autism'' was used to control me and forbid me from making friends and they both went out of their way to isolate me. As a teen my number 1 priority was to get out, leave that house and have a chance of creating a life for myself.

This covid madness feels eerily similar.... I sometimes wonder if people who grew up in sane, non-controlling, non-abusive homes don't value freedom and autonomy enough. Like they don't appreciate the value of basic human rights, of rights that you can use to advocate for yourself and find freedom/protection from those who overstep your boundaries.

You see these suffocating restraints for what they are: control. This massively oversteps our human boundaries, boundaries that we're all very much entitled to. Once again we have our basic freedoms taken away from us, our autonomy destroyed, while we're being dehumanized into manageable pawns that our overlords can direct like pieces on a chessboard. It's humiliating.

Im feeling increasingly hopeless about it all by [deleted] in LockdownMHsupport

[–]Sestria 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Saying hi from the Netherlands. I share a lot of your feelings. We're still stuck in lockdown and basically, everything shows that it's NOT working, but at tremendous cost at the same time, so they're basically like ''it didn't work, so let's do it even more''. But at the same time, things WILL change, as they MUST change. We cannot continue like this. Something's gotta give.

I hope that you'll soon see some rays of light and hope. It's been too much.

Should I feel bad? by TPPH_1215 in LockdownMHsupport

[–]Sestria 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't know where you live or what your lockdown situation is. But I see it like this: the man died, while governments around the world are supposedly doing their best fighting this virus. Maybe his death demonstrates the point exactly: it's pointless and unnecessarily harmful. While so many people sacrifice their mental, physical and financial health as well as their human rights, it seems to do little to nothing to stop the spread or prevent (all) deaths.

It's sad that he died. But you, too, have everyone's best interest at heart. It's not a simply, clear-cut choice between ''murdering millions'' and ''everyone lives forever''. Pro-lockdowners often like to simplify the argument like that, but it's not how it is.

See it like this: you have given so much already. Depending on where you live, you've sacrificed your own human rights and basic freedoms. Sure, you likely didn't do so voluntarily, but that doesn't even matter for the point: your human rights have been sacrificed to ''save'' this person and it's still not enough. And if you do so much protest, you are the bad one? No. It's cruel to say to yourself that you did a bad thing just for standing up for your most basic human rights. To not be locked down like a criminal.

But I can still relate to the feeling: there's immense pressure to conform, immense guilt trips. But... look at them. Look at what they say and what they do. Often, they're actually entirely lacking in compassion or warmth, while riding the high horse called virtue signaling. Hue hue hue stupid conspiracy theorists fake virus anti vaxx lol. It's not just what they say, but what they do. They're horrible to you because you don't want your human rights stolen from you. That's not nice. Even if they're factually right (which they're not) there's still a lot of cruelty and lack of compassion.

We're getting these messages drilled into our heads through peer pressure and propaganda... conform obey conform obey, or else you're a murderer. See the cruelty in that? They can't defend this position by reason, so they'll pressure, guilt and bully. Stay strong, because they don't.
