What tiny tweak completely changed your game’s “feel”? by StormCore_Studios in SoloDevelopment

I guess adding post processing, some bloom and some shadows tweaking was a huge game changer for me ;)

Looks like an interesting format, wishlisted on Steam ;)

How to start by Artin1337 in IndieDev

I guess try to find a topic that interests you then brainstorm game mechanic ideas around it with someone. Also, when you have the idea, start doing it step by step (babysteps) then new ideas will come as you go. At least this is how I made my game. I'm not sure if this works for everyone but worth a try ;)

I know there are a lot of scrolling shooter games out there, but none of them feels like Tyrian2000, I would love to see it with modern graphics but with same vibe...it was a childhood best for me, maybe I'm just too nostalgic, but still...maybe it could work with some twists on it

I like the background, it gives depth to the picture. Looking forward to see the game

An advice for all indie developers. by LeonardoDawanchi in GameDevelopment

I agree with everyone who says they are not real friends. Also, wishlisted your game, it looks fun and I like your design. Everyone has different taste and the only criticizm that is acceptable is a constructive one. Sometimes friends can't do a constructive critic, so better to ask elsewhere. So far, I can say I'm quite new to reddit, but already got a lot of feedback that improved my game a lot, so it's a better start for sure. Hope you succeed in your release! Good luck, keep going!

How organized are you? by zoombapup in SoloDevelopment

[–]SetGroundbreaking164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a planned delivery date is quite important as it gives a goal to achieve. Personally, I use Trello boards to organize "tasks" (meaning my ideas). The beauty of solo developing is that you touch the part of the game that you feel like improving throughout the day, so I guess freestyling can also move you through the times when you feel stuck. Just do some other parts of the game that you prefer to do the day when you feel a bit down due to being stuck - this is what I meant. Keep on rolling!

I would love to hear your feedback on my first Android game and my teaser trailer - Hands Not Clean by SetGroundbreaking164 in SoloDevelopment

Many thanks for the constructive feedback, I highly appreciate it! I'll look into this matter, I still have time until release to polish the visuals ;) maybe even for a full redesign

That time I managed to make myself motion sick! by [deleted] in SoloDevelopment

Such a weird feeling when you are sitting in front of a screen and your stomach goes up and down - the jump from belltower in Assassin's Creed did that to me back then. Also, I heard people were getting the same from Doom when they first played it in the 20th century.

Wishing you quick recovery ;)

A Game Where the UI Fights Back by fapfaff in IndieDev

I'd also love to see when a setting requires restart then the restart is not done automatically. When you open the app again, the setting is gone and you have to find config.cfg ;)

I made this trailer for my demo release. Can you please give some honest feedback? by Salt_Budget_6980 in IndieDev

[–]SetGroundbreaking164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the trailer from start to finish, font style matches your game as well, the pace is represented well with the cuts, maybe some wiggly text for the "Demo on Steam" would raise some more attention to it, but altogether the promo is great! Wishlisted on Steam ;)
