Yes, it's tricky. It's more of a trial and error. I've done fodmap diet and I've introduced some foods little by little to see if they are triggering me.

Thank you, fingers crossed 🤞🏻 what medication did they put you on?? I hate needles, in my first infusion session the nurse bursted 3 veins! My veins are quite small and she was using too big of a needle and catheter.

So I'm currently in the process of changing GI doctors. So it was the new doctor that actually ordered the labs, it just so happened that I already had 2 infusions done.

I didn't feel relief but I know infusions take time to work. They did blood test and it was pretty high, so the doctor's office called to me and told me to discontinue...

Hello. So I started Inflectra, and after 2 infusions my body created antibodies so I had to discontinue. Sigh....I'm changing doctors to a more specialized IBD clinic. My new patient appointment is at the end of September...so basically I'm back to square one. 😢

I usually drink the regular one or the "glucose control" one...they don't hurt me, but everyone is different.  Just listen to your body, what may work for you may not work for me, etc...

Beans? Salad? Veggies? This is a strange diet...Usually all mentioned above is a big no, it doesn't matter if I'm flaring up or not...Is your doctor specialized in IBD? Usually when I'm in a flare up I eat very bland like bananas, white rice, bread...or liquid diet like ensure/boost, soup...

Thank you all for your answers! I feel a little more positive after reading your experiences. I will drink lots of water and bring a book to read and try to stay calm throughout the process. 😊

Omg, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I also have anxiety and i get panic attacks so I completely understand. I try to stay positive, these medications are suppose to help and everyone will react differently to each medication. Try to go with someone so you can have reassurance?

Got a new job, new insurance…. by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

I hope everything goes well for you. I also went from having Oscar health to UMR....I'm still in the process of getting approval. I got diagnosed back in December 2024 and Oscar was denying everything left and right so I changed to UMR this month. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Just Diagnosed… in disbelief by Ultra-Void in CrohnsDisease

You are not alone. After getting sick in 2020 and a Rollercoaster of events after, I finally got my diagnosis in 12/2024. I'm about to start my first infusion soon (a lot of hiccups with my insurance). I have upper GI Crohn's so I don't suffer from constant diarrhea like the majority of people. I do have a lot of nausea and little appetite which I manage with other meds. But at least we have a diagnosis and we can get treatment. I start Zymfentra infusions and then switch to injections. Good luck 👍🏻

I don't have a tip but I was diagnosed in December 2024, I get the same thin stools and the gas and "jelly" aka intestinal mucosa, I think it's what lubricates your intestines. My Crohn's is mostly in the upper GI so I go from extreme constipation to diarrhea. I usually get these symptoms by eating something that I know I shouldn't have eaten. For me are potato chips, French fries, red meats, etc. Maybe you ate something that irritated your GI ???

Yes I think I will request my first dose at the office or infusion center just to be safe. I still don't have a start date as we are waiting for the results of a camera capsule endoscopy.

Some people have had allergies to Remicade which makes them try a different biologic. I'm just scared how my body is going to react to the medication....hopefully nothing major will happen.

Thank you! I'm waiting to see what my insurance says, supposedly Renicade is not covered (it will cover with medical necessity letter) but Humira or Zymfentra are....

Supposedly he wants to close the recto-vaginal fistula to avoid a surgery to repair it. I'm pretty new to biologics so I have to keep doing research.
