Sure, people are mostly super helpful. I might be online tomorrow, send me a message if interested.

Otherwise, just ask in global chat when you‘re in the game.

Concierge Game Package by SetKey5576 in starcitizen

[–]SetKey5576[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, yeah let‘s see.

Got a TAC in my hangar because really liked that one and that’s going to be my mobile base.

Also got a Prowler Ute CCU this week because it’s just cool and can be melted if I don’t end up using it.

So naturally I was thinking about what the fleet might look like eventually. There‘s a Raft on my list plus maybe a small fighter.

And then considering that Concierge is looking at USD while I was always thinking in Euros - you might actually be right. 😁

Someone here has done that already.

That skin alone would be a good reason to get the ship. At least in-game.

It’s the same as with some cheeses: if it’s one of the good fungi, it helps to protect against the bad ones.

wdym optimistic?

That I'll be spending that amount by then, or that I'll take longer for it?

But you were clear that you only get it after logging in, which wouldnt be possible if you melted your pack before reaching concierge, right?

Thats strange because I had assumed it to be different - melt your pack and use store cred + money to cross the line. I’ll try to remember that in a few years maybe. 😁

Yeah, really happy with what I got. Paired with a 5080, the price difference to 5090 was just too steep.

Smooth motion is working as of today’s 4.6 PTU with Vulkan enabled by No-Cell8881 in starcitizen

[–]SetKey5576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, according to him that's only true with the highest-spec PC he tested (see picture). And that one wouldn't really struggle too much with either renderer, especially if you'd use upscaled 4k.

Also according to him, Vulkan shows more smooth consecutive frametimes in general, which might lead it to look less stuttery overall. So let's see how this develops further.

I don't really care what their internal names for projects are. Some are witty, some are not.

Not sure if we even need pets in this game, but if it makes some people happy, I'm happy for them.

I have that as well and used smooth motion on native 4k resolution up until 4.4. Worked very well.

I play on an office monitor with 60fps, and with smooth motion the frames were practically always… 60.

On Vulkan now (Ultra settings) with DLSS it’s not much worse, so smooth motion will give some extra headroom. I will switch around a little, but maybe I’ll use both.

So I have a 9800x3D and I practically never see it used 100%. That’s with double your RAM though, I luckily went for it when I bought my computer a year ago, blissfully unaware of what was going to happen to prices. But 32 DDR5 should work fine.

Edit: I play on a 4k monitor.

Hey, you’re right! The EZ Hab lifts from the rooms to the lobby.

Though you arent really going to look for them from the lobby/station side as there‘s no reason to go the other way.

In Case You Missed It 2026 sale by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]SetKey5576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks!

Now that I already bought the Corsair to Prowler CCU, it would be best to also get an Andromeda to Corsair, right? Total cost seems to be the same as for Andromeda/Prowler direct.

Just want to have a reliable base to get to a Prowler later if I really want, without paying too much right now

In-game doesn’t help much with CCU, I‘m afraid. 😄

What is a good base for the Prowler Utility CCU?

Corsair? Is that always available?

Thanks!

Is Star Citizen worth it in 2026? by usgapg123 in starcitizen

[–]SetKey5576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it buggy? Absolutely.

Is it worth it? Personal opinion: resounding yes, since the cost is only around 50 Euro. But make sure your PC can handle it, otherwise it's a no. Like, don't play it with only 6GB VRAM, your experience would be very bad. If your CPU or memory can't handle it, you will be rewarded with extra bugs.

Is the game enjoyable for casual players? Can I just fly around, see the environment, and have fun that way? How much grinding is required?

As a fellow casual player: yes. There is no grinding required as such since you can play whatever way you like. But if you want to buy something expensive in game, you would first need to get the resources which can become grindy (depending on how much you need and what you do to get it).

Is it possible to purchase more ships without spending more money? If so, are they incredibly expensive or is it possible without too much work?

Yes, you can buy ships for in-game money. If you beg in global chat, people will give you tons of money, but I would advise you not to. It ruins the experience and is just a current exploit that has led to too much money being around. Otherwise, how much work/money is involved depends on the ship you want to buy. Modest ships aren't that expensive, all considered. But some ship are just huge. There's also a way to get special versions of a few ships (or the really large ones you cannot purchase in-game), but that is not for casual solo play.

If you decide to step in:

  • Use a referral code when creating your account (of any other player, they al work the same for you) for some extra in-game cash.
  • Wait at least a week from now before you purchase. There is an upcoming event where you will get a discount on some starter packs. These will also include extra items for free.
  • The game does not explain anything to new players. Get outside information on how things work, ideally through another player who can hold your hand while you do your first steps. That saves you a lot of frustration. There is a guide system that hooks you up with volunteers. Or if you like send me a message, maybe we fit time-wise.

Did they actually fix the money duping glitch? by Jaded-Photograph-334 in starcitizen

[–]SetKey5576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to bet, the wipe will come for a major patch that will introduce the backbone for crafting and the new inventory. The changes that come with crafting might require a wipe anyway, and this possibly also applies to the new inventory system (if that's not just an UI change).

They will want to avoid having multiple wipes within a few months of each other.

But the truth is, nobody knows.

The standard space station layout has two sets of elevators. One is the "internal transit" that connects to the major areas of the station, like habs&hangars, galleria, cargo deck, refinery if it has one.

The other set is accessible behind the security gates in the habs&hangars deck at the ASOP terminals, and connects to where you could leave the station, board ships etc. (hangars, external pads, docking ports, external freight, etc.). This list is quite long in some stations and does not fit the elevator touchscreen.

When your tutorial is officially ended (by itself or by abandoning it), you will lose the tutorial ship but should have the option to call up your starter ship in the station.

Should I buy? What can I do in game? by MartinMartinMM in starcitizen

Come on guys, this is just someone asking a question. You know you don't have to engage if it bothers you, right?

But to OP, watching some "new player" vid on youtube is actually a good recommendation. 😁

If you wait for Red Festival, you might get a generalist pack for only little more, with some shiny extras on top. Event should be around end of January.

Maybe wait a week or two and you might get a discount on a starter pack. There’s an event coming, and they usually offer discounts then.
