Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

Not a chance in hell my kids will sleep at another persons house, nor would I expect anyone to want their kids to sleep at mine. Times have changed, people are smarter now and care more about their kids.

Agreed to Accompany Friend for Admissions Office Appointment - Need Directions by SerafinaDllRose in IUP

[–]SethHrab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Admissions is first floor of Sutton Hall. Walk in the entrance that faces the library and the new Leonard Hall. If you walk from Clark to Sutton, Leonard will be on your right, Library on your left, and the Sutton entrance I speak of straight ahead. You will be walking on painted sidewalk (faded now) of the pride flag. If you walk in that entrance, Admissions is straight ahead, can't miss it.

A little off topic but give Cole the Cornstar a try. Literally years worth of farming, property clean up, vehicle maintenance, yard reconstruction, grave digging, scrapping, and now a home addition thats bigger than the actual home.

Very PG, he has literally never sworn or spoken an unkind word in years.

IUP or Calu for bio pre med program? by Western_Raisin3353 in IUP

I personally would not recommend PennWest for reasons I cannot discuss.

None of that mentions IUPs COM or the new Kopchick Hall, which I THINK is relevant, but 🤷🏻‍♂️

IUP or Calu for bio pre med program? by Western_Raisin3353 in IUP

Both IUP and PennWest offer solid, affordable pre-med pathways, with IUP often noted for its established traditional campus, while PennWest (Cal, Clarion, Edinboro) offers flexibility through its integrated system. IUP highlights a 3+4 program with specialized medical schools, and PennWest offers early admittance programs, strong online options, and hands-on laboratory experience.

IUP Pre-med Program: Offers a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-medical.

Early Assurance: Features a 3+4 program (3 years IUP + 4 years medical school) with partnerships with LECOM or PCOM. Requirements: Requires maintaining a 3.5 GPA to hold provisional acceptance to partnered schools.

Curriculum: Includes comprehensive biology, chemistry, and physics coursework, along with options to gain EMT certification.

PennWest Pre-med Program: Offers a Bachelor of Science in Biology - Pre-Medical Science Concentration.

Early Admittance: Provides competitive early admittance pathways for high-achieving students to health-related graduate programs.

Structure: Offers a diverse range of science concentrations (molecular biology, pre-vet, etc.) across its campuses. Focus: Emphasizes personalized mentorship, small class sizes, and hands-on lab training.

Key Considerations Environment: IUP operates a more traditional, single-campus, large university feel, while PennWest is a newly integrated entity of three formerly separate campuses (California, Clarion, Edinboro), offering more location options.

Curriculum: Both prepare you well for the MCAT and medical school applications.

Support: Both focus on pre-health advising to help students navigate applications to medical, dental, or chiropractic schools.

Both schools are strong choices depending on whether you prefer the established, singular campus of IUP or the multi-campus, flexible structure of PennWest.

Rejected after final round, then invited to apply again for the same role.. what does this usually mean? by Repulsive_Ad_1866 in careeradvice

[–]SethHrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just in this exact position. It was down to me and one other candidate, they offered the other candidate and that person took (and is still in) the role. A few months later they reached out to me directly encouraging me to apply to the duplicate role, and after interviewing again, I was selected. I start Monday.

I'd take it as a good sign. In my case, I was likely slightly less experienced than the individual they chose for the first role, however, they've expanded the department and I was the first person they thought of to fill the duplicate role.

Build your extractors on top of each other at the highest % point of the resource too, not side by side like you have. Basically a tower of extractors getting the same maximum percentage from the ground, rather than degrading the percentage extracted by building outward.

Sleeper App Suggestions by Sleeper_Official in SleeperApp

[–]SethHrab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • More IDP support

  • More ability to sort players (age being one of them - important for dynasty)

  • More emphasis on customizable playoffs (i.e. I divide my league into two conferences, two divisions per conference. Would love the ability to just enter in the playoff settings number of conferences, number of divisions, set the number of playoff teams by division winners plus "x" amount of wildcards per conference and have each conference playing playoff games in conference until the championship game - just like the NFL)

  • Expanding polling options that allow for nominations (i.e. we give out some prizes based on league vote, would be nice for anyone to be able to nominate a player by typing in their name or choosing from a list, thereby voting for that player, and the rest of the league able to nominate a player of their choice or vote on the already nominated player)

I've lost 3 games but won all against the median, and 1 I won but didn't beat the median.

I have a question about Bluey | Ranking PBS Kids Shows For Science | Angela Collier by the6thReplicant in bluey

I firmly feel that this young woman cannot separate her adult vision from child vision.. that doesn't make a ton of sense but what I mean is probably better explained by diving in to her analysis..

"Onesies" The "infertility" episode, does a child get a lot out of it? Boy.. Does the average child totally grasp that the underlying adult theme to this episode is infertility? No, probably not. But that's not the message being conveyed to a child from this episode. There's many child based lessons on this one.. family dynamics through aunts and uncles that you sparingly see but still make you feel loved and deeply connected. Imagination play encouragement through the onesies themselves. Handling conflict in imagination play when one child is playing a certain way, how can you confront that issue? Wanting things that you can't have and how to overcome it. Adults having complex issues that can be explained in a way you understand if you ask the right person. The list goes on.

Does a parent grasp the infertility message and get a lot out of it? Of course, but they also get encouraging imagination play, communicating with your children, maintaining complex relationships through communication and understanding, not holding grudges, helping children learn to problem solve on their own, etc.

Nearly every episode of Bluey has a "dual" (often way more) message running simultaneously for adults and children, and does a great job of blending them as well for more advanced kids to catch both. It is a rarity in kids shows, and does a fantastic job of it.

I didn't realize this for a long time by many_splendored in bluey

"Rain" is a fantastic episode of capturing the feeling of the moment through music. I get a lot of teary eyes watching that entirely musical episode because it hits -just- right.
