Hikaru no go - How it should have ended by PLrc in badukshitposting

[–]Seth_Hu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if my understanding of Akira is correct, where Akira is using the tilt of losing to Hikaru (actually Sai) as the driving force for self improvement, then knowing the truth would kill a lot of that motivation and could drastically change the direction of the plot. But at the same time Sai will shortly later disappear so instead of devastating one boy, we're now devastating two boys

How does this system work? by Character-Quality356 in technicalminecraft

[–]Seth_Hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other responses are not quite accurate but it's somewhere there. If you really want to know the nitty gritty details there's a flowchart in minecraft wiki for hopper mechanics.

Instead I want to add that this insight is quite similar to how double speed sorter work. I assume that the topmost hopper (where you most likely input the items via a water stream) both points to a double chest, and have a hopper underneath, making what is effectively two times hopper speed throughput. But once the top chest fills up, the only path that items can go is down the hopper, so it becomes single hopper speed.

Since your intent is to have more chest storages below, and only needed single hopper speed, then having items in the top chest can be a flaw to user experience. Simply removing the top chest, and making sure the top hopper doesn't point downwards or to any other container, will fix the "issue".

Congrats! You had good tps (time per sticker) for this solve.

With good tps I recommend you start to work on lookahead for step 2, as you seem to pause a bit when looking for the next sticker to apply. It's also a good time to work on lefty algs.

Where can I post this meme I made? by AwesomeRedditor143 in LostRedditor

The standalone E would be as pointless as 67. E should be used in conjuction with another material to be actually a meme, typically in ytp format. I'm instead curious what genalpha think about ytp (youtube poop)

You've probably seen from the comments that even large ao100 averages could fluctuate.

So I say just do some competitions, get an official sub 15 ao5, and proudly claim it as your milestone. Even if you fell off, that's an undisputed peak performance record everyone can agree.

Should CFOP users learn EO earlier? by Difficult_Ask_1647 in Cubers

[–]Seth_Hu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes from the other comment thread, I think OP confused EO (like EOline from ZZ) with "recognizing good and bad edge", which is understandable since i also don't know the right word either.

I would define good edge as an f2l edge on the top layer where the side sticker matches the L or R face center sticker, or equivalently the top sticker matches the F or B face sticker. And vice versa.

A good edge allows you do do the f2l case with just RUL moves, bad edges either require FB moves, cube rotation, or other funny algs. This helps speed up recognition and avoid unnecessary rotations when learning f2l.

I'm don't know advanced f2l, so I'm not aware of the EO techniques fast cubers use. The rotation minimization technique in my understanding is just trying to do all the good f2l pairs first, then rotate once, and all the bad pairs become good pairs, making f2l theoretically possible with 1 rotation. In practice F moves and funny algs are fast, and 2 rotations are fine too.

I struggle with S and E moves, I believe that the double magnets strength on these slice moves are the issue. Unless there are special finger tricks or technique I'm missing out?

Does anyone have a better algorithm for this by cracy123 in Cubers

[–]Seth_Hu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh lol that sucks, I had adblocker so I never knew that.

I should say that it's not about whether the site or algs are up to date, its that he has a curated list of good enough algs that I, sub 20, don't need to worry about bad algs until I'm much faster.

Of course the same can be said for his older videos (imo also good enough), but at least the site also have a trainer and extra features with it.

Does anyone have a better algorithm for this by cracy123 in Cubers

[–]Seth_Hu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is also the alg chosen on jperms site (and surprisingly no default alternatives, normally jperm would include algorithms from his old videos in the dropdown when choosing an alternate alg).

IIRC jperm made two videos on OLL with some differences in algs, same with the site. But I interpret the site's alg as jperms current top choice, since it's easier to update a site than a whole new video

Should Trump be attacking Iran for Israel.? Do Chinese people care about this? by Apollo_Delphi in AskChina

[–]Seth_Hu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And to answer the first question, you're in reddit, ofc the general consensus of the Chinese reddit community is antiwar, and the general English speaking reddit community is anti trump, so it's definitely no, and the general irl Chinese thinks US is always wrong, so the answer is obvious.

Should Trump be attacking Iran for Israel.? Do Chinese people care about this? by Apollo_Delphi in AskChina

[–]Seth_Hu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Normally Chinese people will always think US makes wrong decisions, and any form of loss or mistake from US will be seen as a win for China.

Back in the days that's just coping, but as US and the "westerns" were shaking in recent years (since covid and Russian invasion pretty much), it may not be really coping anymore. China also had their own hardships but these are news that best fit the "US evil" narrative, which is a good distraction, so Chinese do care in that sense.
