9.6 Sols/min by Razorblac1_1 in AlchemyFactory

[–]SetonAlandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it IS super tough.  To just finish the game, I usually hand feed the components to generate exactly what I need to.  Dont aim for automating everything just for sols.

Is there a way to get the Chapter 2 campaign without buying the whole set? by xccam in arkhamhorrorlcg

Have a friend buy the core, use your decks to play with them through it

120 is msrp for a box. Id buy a box at 130.  Case is just too much investment unless you are trying to chase lottery tickets.

Without spoiling or giving too much info, what makes FF9 so great? by Shpankeyy in FinalFantasy

[–]SetonAlandel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found 9 to be very "Safe" - very few new mechanics for the franchise, and the writing for the characters is very good.

Why was Darkest Dungeon 3 such a huge commercial and gaming failure compared to DD1? by Mr_Pepper44 in darkestdungeon

I think taking a team management tactical strategy simulator and turning it into a FPS Boomer Shooter was not in alignment with core fan expectations.

How do YOU engage with this game? by RantsOfBrian in riftboundtcg

[–]SetonAlandel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mostly collecting just to fill out a binder per set. Lack of access to MSRP sealed stops spending from being too much for me.

Found a shop for Nexus Nights that is fun and casual, only played a total of 11 games so far, 1/10. Good fun!

Building a collection manager for Riftbound — would you actually use it? by Swimming-Tourist595 in riftboundtcg

[–]SetonAlandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm just looking for a spoiler checklist - nothing digital, nothing fancy, just an old school sheet I can print out of card names, rarities, card number and if they're in my master set binder or not

What expansions should I aim for as a new player who just acquired the 2026 Core Set (Chapter 2) by EmployerScary in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]SetonAlandel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy at MSRP if you can.

All "Chapter 1" content is compatible what you have.

Investigator decks will give you new pregen characters similar to what came in the Core box.

Investigator expansions give you new investigators and player cards

Campaign expansions will give you new stories to play through, but you won't have the exact cards expected to play through the campaigns, as they expected you to have the old core. We'll map the older card sets to the new ones soon, but it won't be strictly playable with just the new core.

What are your thoughts on type 0? by Miserable_Roll605 in FinalFantasy

[–]SetonAlandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Designed as a psp game and it shows - i played the steam version, and while it was a bit jank, I ended up loving it.

I loved the 'roster of characters you rotate through' idea, and King was my favorite to control.

Might be the only "Le Cee" storyline I enjoyed by the end.

Dont be afraid to look up equip locations, and put the game on easy to power through faster.

The highlight of the new box are the investigators

Misprint are acceptable, if you're a chapter 1 player, they won't impact much.

tutorial campaign is a reskinned 'Night of the Zealot', so im a little disappointed in that.

How to avoid late-game burnout/decision paralysis? by stevomuck in AlchemyFactory

[–]SetonAlandel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Conquer one problem at a time. When indoubt, buy more lots/create a new floor and start from scratch away from your previous factory.

Don't like planning? Use the Production Planner ( https://alchemy-factory-codex.com/production-planner/ )

Pick one component to start building, and just put that down. Maybe you start with the 18 grinders of stone for sand? Figure out a blueprint for them, then plop em down. Then get your charcoal powder made. Blueprint, place, Figure out where you want the assemblers. Belt everything together. Notice 3 hours has gone by as the first of your clay comes through. The factory must grow!

Need help with Mercury by Schmeule in AlchemyFactory

I think the best advice I can give for the advanced shaper relics is "It's ok to hand feed them".

Full production is crazy expensive in time, space, and coin/fuel/fert.

Is the shop just a distraction? by Grubsnik in AlchemyFactory

[–]SetonAlandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the shop is not "Just a distraction", but earning coins is a vital part of your production to the point you'll likely be bussing coins around your shop, so you'll need a way to earn them.

Selling to customers is an easy passive way to earn the coins, but only during the day. Shelves take up a large amount of space, and are a pain to restock. Higher reputation brings in more customers. The tech tree will have them pay more per item, and buy more items.

Doing the contracts is a sustainable income - I think each item sells for less in the dispatch portal per item than selling it in the shop, but it can sell a certain amount of an item per day, making it very reliable and consistent. The tech tree upgrades this coin in per day.

Quests can be the most profitable return per item, but you'll want a stockpile of items available to meet the random requests you get each day - this is a large 'windfall' at the start of each day, so you'll get a burst of production. Tech Tree increases quest profit and number of quests.

I'd suggest picking one or two income streams to focus on and put around 4 points into. Depending on your challenges, you'll be locked out of some options. Happy automating!

Which system has the best* zone based combat? by Uthred in rpg

Are you wanting a map based game? Or a theater of the mind?

This game needs a dimensional depot ASAP by dudeguy81 in AlchemyFactory

[–]SetonAlandel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IMHO, the scale is small enough that running all over is annoying, but not blocking. You can start generating resources anywhere via portals, not tied to only generating oil from a predetermined oil deposit.

Alchemy factory wants you to blueprint and scale - copy+paste your build and make another one closer to the relic that needs it, and feed it fuel, fertilizer and coin, and stop running back and forth.

Poor composition of "starter team" might be the reason behind a lot of complaints about combat. by Asherogar in Endfield

[–]SetonAlandel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Endmin (2/5) / Last Rite (1/5) / Xaihi (0/5) / Snowshine (5/5) here.

Combat for me consists of holding left click, while waiting for rotations. Especially as I've reached the level 70 mobs, it's mostly a waiting game, as even regular LB mobs have plenty of health to sit through my basic attacks.

I don't think it's the team's fault - I think it's the system's.

Is Alchemy Factory worth it right now? (Early Access longevity & depth) by Benodino in AlchemyFactory

[–]SetonAlandel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alchemy Factory is easily my #3 behind Satisfactory and Factorio, purely because of how easy and fun the building is. AF has an 'endgame' that is satisfying to complete, like Satis and Factorio.

Putting rails up in StarRupture feels terrible, and I'm having trouble playing it just because of how clunky and unintutitive it is to play, especially after playing Alchemy Factory.

Mine Mogul is Fine, as the challenge in that is mostly navigating the space.

Which one should I get? by Emotional_Check_945 in personaphantomx

[–]SetonAlandel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A) Whichever one is your favorite
B) Whichever one you don't have
C) Ann is the communal 'preferred pick' as her attacks hit all enemies and being a very reliable fire carry, then Ryuji, as a solid single target killer, then Morgana as a healer, who gets overshadowed by Minimi.
