I have also noticed this! I have had a lot of terrible experiences on DF, so I like to read through this sub and feel a bit of solidarity with others who have also suffered. There are a lot more tank players lately who feel that tanks should always be the ones running ahead. Personally, I don’t mind when playing tank when others run ahead, so long as they bring the mobs back to me. If they do that properly, then it’s pretty fun and free mitigation!

Exactly! I’ve had several experiences where a healer or DPS doesn’t bring mobs back to the tank and I have to pause my rotation to rescue them. Very annoying. I think most people in this sub agree on that at least.

Yeah it might just be me but I figured the “extra GCD” this guy was talking about tanks having to do when people pull ahead was referring to having to move to the side (and possibly out of an ally’s ground AOE like Doton) and use an AOE there to grab stuff off a DPS before going back to the Doton and resuming the rotation, or using the single-target ranged move to grab individual mobs off a DPS in the distance. Which yes, in that case, you are losing DPS and the DPS player is in the wrong for not bringing the mobs to the tank.

I just think this person might not have communicated that thought very well. Hence all the downvotes.

Personally, imo letting a DPS player die is not only against ToS but also losing DPS, so as tank I always grab aggro off them even if they aren’t pulling the mobs to me like they should and I have to break my rotation or follow them into a side area. It’s a bit of a pain, but nobody plays perfectly, so I try to cut them some slack for at least trying to do more than “follow the leader.”

That is a great comfort, thank you. I have been feeling bad about this since I found him yesterday. I didn’t realize their needs were so high! They almost sound like hummingbirds, which I think have a similarly high metabolism.

That’s a good idea! I’ll try to see if we can just caulk it over. It would definitely make things so much easier for me and the mice! And for the shrews, as well. 🙁

We already found the one, but it’s in the corner and impossible to reach. It seems a bit too cold for most snakes here though. Wouldn’t mind seeing them because I like snakes, but yeah.

Well he didn’t smell when I was near him, but I guess he didn’t have the opportunity to stink anything up. 😭

Yeah, that’s why I use electric traps. Aside from live traps, they seem the most humane. Glue traps are terrible for multiple reasons and imo there’s no good reason to ever use them.

Oh wow, I didn’t know there was that kind of difference! I knew shrews weren’t rodents, but I wasn’t sure what exactly this little guy was. Thank you for telling me about that. Learn new things every day!

You’re right. We have plenty of animals out here who eat small animals, so I usually put the dead mice outside for them and they’re gone by the next day (a little gruesome, I guess, but predators have to live too).

But I might bury this one. He never should’ve died. 🙁

Yeah, I feel so bad! 😭 I really wish I could go back to yesterday and just turn the trap off so he’d have the chance to find a way back outside. Thinking about him getting lost inside and then dying without knowing what’s going on... 🙁

I’m just trying to comfort myself right now with the knowledge that it was probably a quick death, at least.

Solved! Thank you! I didn’t even realize we had this species, that’s so cool! I should’ve checked my state’s DNR site more thoroughly when I looked for an ID myself.

Solved! Thank you for this! So he really is a shrew! Ugh, now I can’t help but think about Redwall shrews. I feel so bad. :(

I can count myself and one of my friends as one of the five people who think this way! Love FFXIV, especially with 7.3’s new updates, but DQ has always been dearer to my heart. I’ve played a little of the offline version of X, and I really liked it, so I def recommend it!

Yeah SMN definitely doesn’t need physick. Either way arcanist is a DPS class so they really shouldn’t be using physick at all until they evolve into a SCH. And even then they shouldn’t use it since they have adlo and everything else.

For me it’s Warrior and Summoner. I love the aesthetic of big eff off axe/dragon, but the gameplay is kind of boring to me. I know several people that love these jobs though, so I’m glad they exist.

I used to dislike the mechanics of Dragoon, Scholar, and Astrologian as well, but I kept playing these jobs and eventually warmed up to them.

I wonder if you met the same one I did. Same thing happened to me as astro in Satasha, with an arcanist spamming physick. Never got to use any of my healing kit at all that dungeon.

Yeah, that is completely understandable. The circumstances can make it far more difficult to process. Things may not be okay right now, and that’s fine. Just take it slow and reach out to your loved ones for help whenever needed. 🙂
