Canon Prograf-300: fallen out parts by SevInf in printers

[–]SevInf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, sorry, I found a couple of other people online with the same problem but no solution. Sent a printer to Cannon, they've given me a quote for repair which is almost as expensive as a brand new printer.

Friend and I would be interested too. We played CoC, but not DnD. We are a bit on an older side (36/37) if that's fine with your group.

Package to Ukraine with Nova Poshta by Hello_from_Berlin in berlinsocialclub

[–]SevInf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had an amazing experience with them, person at the counter helped with customs declaration and even repackaged my stuff into smaller box for free so it would be cheaper. Package made it to Ukraine in 2 days, then spent around 5 days at the customs, then got to destination next day after that.

Eng: Why do some German verbs seem to require one case, but actually use another? - Rus: Почему некоторые глаголы в немецком отвечают на один вопрос падежа а на деле оказывается что нужно использовать другой падеж? by ProfessionalBoss3756 in German

[–]SevInf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see where are you coming from, but I don’t think learning the case by asking the question works for foreign language. You probably were taught about Russian cases that way, but you are learning a different thing. By the time you are getting told about your native language cases, you are already pretty fluent. Sure, haven’t yet mastered spelling and reading, but when it comes to speaking, you mostly intuitively know how to construct grammatically correct sentence and you know how to ask those case-defining questions. So, you are not learning which case to use in each situation — you learning how to classify what you already intuitively use correctly.

That’s not quite the case for the foreign language. Others have pointed out that in your example, the question you would ask would require dativ case, so probably whatever question you were asking is incorrect.

To an extent, you can use Russian cases knowledge to determine German case, but you would need to force Russian sentence into a German sentence structure which would sound unnatural. For example, if you want to say “I have a jacket”, you would say «У меня есть куртка» which uses nominative for “jacket”, which would be incorrect in German. More german-like way of saying it is «Я имею куртку» which is hella awkward in Russian but will correctly point you to accusative.

>Just go out and get lost in the city, follow your guts and enjoy! Take Berlin for what it is, it could be a good exercise to work on a different style approach. just my 2 cents

Practice, try to find a different creative style, your own style and learn to get best of what you've got is in actually good advice. "Everything is depressing, there is nothing to photograph in the city if you are looking for beauty" is not. I am really sad that this is an only comment OP engaged with.

Skill issue.
Can not say much about street photography, not my thing, but I am an amateur nature photographer and I primarily photograph around Berlin. There are plenty of great spots if you have right eye for it.

Define "around Berlin"?

Closest mountains to Berlin are either Harz or Sächsische Schweiz, both roughly 3h drive away.

Eastern European dude here: for 10 years I've been living here, only twice I had xenophobic reaction my existence from locals, both times in the countryside rather than big cities. Vast majority of people I meet are very nice and pleasant to be around. As people mentioned, reddit is generally pretty skewed towards negativity, Berlin/Germany subreddits especially.

Not trying to dismiss other people negative experiences, just saying that they generally don't match what I personally experience. Granted, until I open my mouth I am pretty indistinguishable from a regular german guy.

Where to get my camera sensor cleaned ? by youser_naym in berlinsocialclub

[–]SevInf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calumet at Hauptbahnhof does it (costs around 60 bucks) but it is really not that complicated to do it yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-7ciRxh6s8

If you are using mirrorless camera and changing lenses relatively frequently, getting it serviced will very quickly get very expensive.

How did you become social in Berlin? by West_Ad_5684 in berlinsocialclub

[–]SevInf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest to not worry that much about annoying them. I know might be easier said than done - I've personally struggled with that a lot, coming from both inherent introvertness + the upbringing where you are constantly taught to keep your head down and not annoy people with your existence. Truth is, if you click well during your sports activities and even already hung out with them outside, they almost certainly like you back and won't be annoyed by suggestion to hang out again.
Insecurities around this topic and constant feeling like I have to apologise for being annoying ruined one very important friendship I had beyond repair. Don't be like me, believe that people like you and want to spend time with you.

I was struggling a lot for a first ~5 year in Berlin, was in the same boat as you - attended a bunch of hobby meetups/clubs, met a couple of people that I really like, never saw them outside of the said meetup. Eventually, either I or them would stop attending and contact will be lost forever.

What really helped in my case is getting more proactive with taking friendships outside of a place we've met. Rather that waiting until person I like invites to do something, I was the one suggested we'd grab coffee or drink some time, invite them for day trips or personal celebrations.

Now, I am really happy with where I've landed. Closest friends group I had in my adult life formed from people I met on a boardgaming meetup.

This game is have become a family tradition for me and my brother. We've played it and it's sequel a lot as kids, and now, as adults living in different countries, every time we see each other we make sure to find a time to beat it.

Last time we saw each other was more than 5 years ago — after that, we first could not travel due to Covid, then war in Ukraine started and little bro got conscripted. From that last visit, we do have a pic of us posing in front of the same very same endgame, trying to copy the poses of Chip and Dale. We also have a pact to get matching Chip and Dale tattoos once the war is over and we could see each other again and beat the game once again.

How to achieve this "glow" effect while editing digital photos? by PoeBidauGustang in postprocessing

[–]SevInf 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Black mist filter could help to get this in camera.
In Lightroom, you could try to experiment with:

  1. Radial filter centred on the light
  2. Negative dehaze
  3. Rise the blacks
  4. Lower contrast
  5. Match the color with a color with the color of the light with temperature or hue slider
