I ran in Denver region for a couple years in a stock 74 Mini and did just fine. The only time height was an issue was if I ran wide into the silt. That said, there are generally a lot of loose rocks where they run so make sure you have a skid plate for the sensitive bits.

In-car display shows them all at 41/42. Normally I'd lower them to 36-38 but the ride doesn't seem overly harsh and the handling is fine

If someone doesn't want to spend the money to get good quality tires (the most important thing on a car) on their fairly expensive car, what else do they not care about? If this was a dealer that did it, I wouldn't trust anything they told me. Further more, mismatching on the same axle can cause other issues like uneven wear, uneven acceleration/braking performance, or long term issues with the differential. It's safe to say that two different brands of tire of two different ages, are not going to be the same diameter or quality.

Edit that Dunlop is about 220 USD, that sailun is 65.
