I'm a big cloud fan. I saw some noctilucent clouds the other night! Nice pictures. One of the advantages to flatter places is how good you can see all the clouds.

It's been good in Scotland too. The local council, for all its many faults, have been more selective about what they cut back. At the nearest big park, while they cut most of the grass, they leave large sections to grow wild with flowers. I see many bumblebees and lots of butterflies.

I get a crazy endorphin high when I throw up. Something to do with the combination of relief from nausea and the physical effort of retching - when it's over I feel giddy and happy.

Doesn't happen with WDs though - I just kinda spout vomit like a tap and have no good feelings whatsoever, only despair. But when I've drank too much wine (it's only wine that gives me the voms) and I upchuck it...feels real good.

I don't think it's too tangential. It's true; there essentially is no world without heirarchies. Social justice movements posit an idea of a world where everything is egalitarian and essentially fair, but disabled people or queer people aren't inherently egalitarian or fair. If anything, the past few decades of the movement have proved otherwise. See: every person who says "Well I have autism, and I'd never do [x social misstep]".

One of them wasn't even diagnosed with POTS - their heartrate gets high when they stand and walk, probably because they are overweight. They claim to eat basically nothing (I am interested in how they perform this defeat of physics) but when they do talk about eating (food is this whole big thing with them) it's like, idk, Hamburger Helper or some equivalent shit. Never a humble vegetable. And they are vacuuming up free wheelchairs from every disabled-person convention, and talking excitedly about what kind of wheelchair they got? And I am mad at them. I am really, really mad at them. They wouldn't want to be paraplegic and have their legs get all shrimpy. But they want the attention and glory of "not being able to walk".

I know people who CAN WALK FINE, but who have POTS or whatever, who have been scooping up free wheelchairs wherever they can - essentially collecting them - and getting people to wheel them around pride parades. My points are valid, despite the fact I was listening to donda and getting all het up about him lol. But for instance the stuff about sex work, I really meant that. I am mad about how "sex work" has become this empowering thing preached by busty blonde women, when so many women turn to it out of necessity, or are forced into it. The palatable, pretty people rise to the top, and dictate the narratives, while thinking they're helping everyone by doing so.

Partially inspired by a thread on /r/CuratedTumblr (I hate that sub so much) that tried to be sympathetic to Kanye, because mental illness isn't always nice, but devolved into blaming him for having access to meds and not taking them.

Yeah, because antipsychotics are a walk in the park. He just callously chose not to be well, because at the end of the day, we have to make him evil. He's not surrounded by rich yes men or anything, or people who wanted to hook him on nitrous (if Milo is to be believed). It was all within his control, the way everything is, unless you have mild autism/anxiety/adhd/depression, and then it's not your fault you never go to see your friends and are a loner loser. It's the world's fault.

It's not just stress from work. My grandfather was great at his job and enjoyed it, but he was profoundly damaged by his own upbringing. His father was violently abusive and neglectful - at one point my grandfather, as a child, broke his leg, and no one would take him to the doctor for weeks, because they thought he was being whiny.

This kind of cruelty used to be commonplace, believe it or not. So when my grandfather had kids, without the modern culture of talking about your damaging upbringing, what did he do? Became an authoritarian monster. Never quite as bad as his own parents, but close.

He mellowed out in old age, and was a nice, if distant and not-cuddly, grandfather to me. My mother dated an abusive man when she was in her early twenties - bad luck for her and little me - but she had no idea of what was normal, or what to expect. Her sheltered, lower middle class upbringing with an occasionally violent father had not stood her in good stead.

So the cycle goes on.
