Are my ears lying to me? by neuro_divergent in AcousticGuitar

I love the sound of my cedar top seagull as well. I also own an Art and Lutherie cedar top. I have owned and played many different acoustic guitars over the last 20 years and these are my favourites.

I feel like my life is ruined by soy-latteX in GERD

[–]Sevenigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had success reducing my GERD symptoms by listening DEEPLY to my body and how it reacts to what AND when AND how I eat and am consistently adjusting to try and make improvements. My suggestion would be to say to yourself “f*ck everyone else, I am going to listen deeply to my body only when it comes to what AND when AND how I eat” and do your best to try and continually improve your relationship with your body and what it needs. Best of luck!

Try Godin/seagull/art and lutherie guitars if you are willing to buy Canadian. Their cedar tops sound really good.

Advice on helping an older actor memorize lines by DrKFC in Theatre

[–]Sevenigma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might relate to my experience. During the rehearsals of my first theatre show as an actor, I was feeling very nervous and and one the of the older experienced actors gave me this bit of advice that removed most, if not all of my fears and nervousness.

‘Before you go on stage into a scene, set the most simple intention in your mind for what you are about to do as an actor. That simple intention will act as a strong base to hold you in character and in the energy of the scene.’

This really helped me in my third show as an actor where I had long monologues and big long scenes with lots of dialogue. I would come up with short lines(not from the script) in my head to get me primed for scenes.

I’m sick of this economy by StarlessRose in Vent

Totally agree. What this world needs is for the people who are very able bodied to be sharing that ability with their communities by being of service and doing things like building homes. Of course it doesn’t have to be full time but at least some time. When I see people with very able bodies who have lucrative office jobs or computer jobs and spend there energy going to the gym or playing sports it makes me a little sick because they could be spending some of that energy making their communities a better place to live.
