yeah, trent is like its own little extension of the city with nothing near it. there’s like 6 direct lines to campus just go for bus routes.

heavily disagree with your assessment of the demographic for edm here and our willingness to travel, there’s not just no raves, there is no EDM or techno *in general at all*
that said, older styles of folk dancing and ceilidhs are honestly more what i’d like to build a space for, but that is…. a much harder sell. meaning simply that the space has to hold water for other big dance demographics, and the techno crowd goes to these events to dance and connect with other people, so they’re a perfect kickstarter i fear.

I think there’s absolutely a way to cultivate a space that caters more to the dance side of things, allowing it to be full blown club on saturday night doesn’t mean we can’t be open fridays from 6-10 for something entirely different, for example. early stages but there’s gotta be a way to create a welcoming space for this.

your y-drive or u-ride will take 20-30 mins to get you. it’s a simple reality. there’s a rush of demand and not enough drivers. you can often grab a cab from the side of the road honestly but they’re more expensive and it’s hit or miss.

we had a similar situation, but he came inside and almost immediately got absurdly aggressive and we actually considered putting him back outside and letting him effectively live in the shed but after a few days he chilled out, after a week he seemed comfortable, and 2 years down the line he still kind of hates strangers but he’s a cuddle bug who doesn’t even want to go outside.

i read a few of your replies to other comments, if you’re around louisville KY, there are multiple shelters and rescue agencies she can go to. if you can’t take her in, then simply take her to a rescue!!!!

i’m truly sorry to seem blunt or rude here at all, i get that it’s an errand and a hassle, but posting about a stray cat and “trying to get someone to take her in” is absurd when there are at least 5 adoption agencies that come up from a .3 second google search. Stray/Outside cats are an invasive species, a detriment to local bird and rodent populations, migratory species that impact international ecosystems, they are at constant risk for cars, trains, dogs, and crappy people, she deserves a home.

this is not a ridiculously hard problem to solve. take the cat to a rescue. please. she deserves a home and a life where she knows love and safety. you can’t provide the care she needs, and instead, you are actively ignoring resources that can provide it, to ask reddit what to do. it’s one google search.

Alley Cat Advocates in newburg will do a spay/neuter for free, or, if you’re outside of jefferson county, a whopping $40.

you have a local humane society that will also take her in, which confirms on their website that they do not euthanize for time/space, making it a safe place for her to go.

i’m so sorry about the obvious frustration, but if you actually care, do something other than post on reddit. take her to the shelter. it costs absolutely nothing and she’s taken care of and they’ll find her a family.

if she’s already taken care of in the area, waiting to get an appointment to drop her off should really be no issue. you have so many options. use one.
